Well done!!!...

As a juxtaposition, maybe you could do a poster w/ photos of a Klu Klux Klansman (in full bedsheet), a Nazi SS officer, and a liberal Democratic politician (your choice). You could have a caption like "What do these three have in common? All three support keeping firearms out of the hands of minorities..."

Just a thought...

The racist roots of gun control go much further than that (at least to the 1600s in Georgia) but given the state of education today, you might as well stick with the 1860s. How about a poster showing a clansman morphing into Shumer? :)

That image would be great for the back of a T-shirt, and something else, maybe THR logo, over the left chest.

Oleg, this is a great poster. My only suggestion is that you put a modern handgun (preferably US-made and non-S&W) next to the old one.

BTW, do you have a website with all of your posters? It would be nice to be able to see all of your great work.

Oleg,
See if the viewing of the man's clothing could be better
done with less fade. As it it, only his head and hands are distinctive, like in a medium.
But a powerful poster it is!

sam adams, it helps to save all his pics. i've got a folder full of olegs work on my computer.

and i second the idea of putting some of this work onto shirts with a THR logo as well.

A nod to a Master.

Oleg, your work is powerful and meaningful, and needs to be seen widely. Has there ever been any attempt to spread them around beyond the web?

In gratitude,

geek.

Oleg,
If you would like to redo the poster with the gentleman in 19th Century clothing, I would be happy to introduce you to some of my friends in the Nashville area who perform US Civil War reenacting. CW reenactors will have lots of different "period-style" clothing available.

Very cool poster!

The southern laws against armed free blacks go back further than the 1860s. They were going to hang several POWs from the Union's 54th Infantry reg't (one of the first black units) during the Civil War under a long standing SC statute that made posession of a gun by a black man a hanging offense

Please do, that would be a great help.

Also, I am looking forward to doing photos where black folks aren't represented s anything but run of the mill Americans, w/o references to slavery or race issues.

Tshirts/etc. are in the works, maybe even in a few days...

Oleg, I wish I could air-drop a few thousand of these over St. Louis and Kansas City. (And East LA, NYC, Chicago, etc.).

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. This poster is worth millions.
