Supposedly Weak and Anemic Rounds

I was always amazed at the accuracy and reliablilty of my old Ruger MK1 target model in .22 LR...
But I wouldn't want it as a defensive pistol.

Remember that the ability to shoot tight little groups on a range might well evaporate under the stresses of combat.

The .38 wadcutter will displace/remove a lot of meat/bone.

But who's carrying a .22 rifle loaded with fast extra-light bullets? .38 Specials loaded with wadcutter for short range stopping used to be a police favorite. Standard was a semi-wadcutter. Quite potent. Even today though +P is better. And I won't even ask if you'd stand in front of one as proof -- lol.
