I love SureFire flashlights, however I tend to lose things as well.

For instance, I like to have a flashlight on me when I carry my firearm.

I usually carry something like the SureFire E2e clipped to my weak-side rear pocket.

I am looking for a lower priced and high quality powerful flashlight that I may clip to my pocket.

Any thoughts?

Thanks .........

Thanks for the info.

Do any of the SureFire plastic flashlights have a pocket clip?

I need a small flashlight with a pocket clip.

Happy New Year!

Thanks .........

Solarforce. Solarforce-sales.com and get something in L2 flavor. Pocket clip and non-crenelated bezel will run you another 5 bucks. flashlight body is 8 to 15 depending on flavor you like. You can pick whatever emitter you like- I have had good luck with their XP-G line. you can put together a very nice light for under 30 bucks. I own half a dozen (might be more - would have to check) of these. They have been kicked, thrown, smashed on concrete, and have survived countless barroom brawls. They work great in cold weather, are good with rechargeable or lithium.

I think Fenix are the best, and most reasonably priced lights out there. I own one Surefire and nine different Fenix lights. And they have plenty of different weapon mounts/remote switches as well. Oh, and they're all regulated, CREE, waterproof, etc. just like the most expensive Surefires.

I love that Surefires are made in the States, but I also think you pay an incredible premium for having their name on 'em.

I carried a fenix for ages till I got a Nitecore D10 (now D11). The nitecore is infinitly variable output, just hold down the button till its as bright or dim as you like. The battery lasts alot longer because you tend to run it as dim as you need. But full bright is only one click, thn hold away. The fenix dim in preset steps. Either is a damn good light. They are both available in AA, or CR123 models.

I just got the Fenix PD-30 and am quite pleased with it. It is slim enough for pocket carry but puts out 257 lumens (rated anyway) for a couple of hours. I also use the dim feature a lot. I like it that I can either have it on high on the first click or on dim for the first click.

I also looked at the Quarks like was suggested earlier and they were a close second. It looked like a quality piece.

The Surefires seemed to be really good at one thing. That is understandable and that is what I would want in a combat situation. However, for EDC, I wanted something that was a little more versatile and the Fenix seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

Fenix, nitecore, lumix, solarforce, zebralight, the quark, the list goes on. Lots of good lights out there, but to really get the bright light output, you don't need an expensive flashlight, you need the right batteries. Forget the AA's and go with some 14500 rechargable lithium cells. Same size as AA, but easily doubled my light output over AA energizer lithiums. Just make sure your flashlight is ok with running the 14500 cells. They put out 3.7v instead of 1.5. My nitecore d10 will, my fenix lid will not.

If you lose flashlights left and right, I'd suggest you hit up dealextreme or somewhere, pick up a charger and a fistful of 14500's and a couple of these http://www.dealextreme.com/p/akoray...umen-memory-led-flashlight-1-aa-1-14500-28546

they're rated pretty highly over on candlepowerforums, and at 12.50 each, they're almost disposable. It takes about a month for stuff to arrive from dealextreme.

lots of good brands have been mentioned would probably go with solarforce myself have used there drop ins in 9 different flashlights and they have all worked fine so far very bright and several mode choices and voltages to choose from check out lighthound for parts.

deal extreme is usually the cheapest and might be worth looking into if your not in any hurry as shipping takes awhile usually 2-3 weeks some brands are not very good, the ultrafire wf-502b with pocket clip is usually decent and there is several versions to choose from.

I have a streamlight I like a lot. Affordable and has run well so far. Quark makes some cool stuff too; lots of nice different lights, some more niche than others.

I beleive that surefire makes a good flashlight, but I almost think that because they have a mlilitary contract, that they have slowed down on new and improved flashlights.

I pick up a streamlight scorpion, that is brighter then my surefires, and also has a strobe feature for the price of $45. I feel like surefire is being left in the dark by these other companies.

Also found a light called "olight" that boasts 700 lumens, not 60 or 120 like surefire boasts.

I loved surefire when it first came out, just think they are getting burnt out by the competition

The flashlight I keep in my pocket is an Olight T15 3W (if I recall, 10 lumens, 90 lumens, strobe). I've been very happy with it for the past 18 months or so. I want a general purpose inexpensive quality flashlight and this has worked well for me. If it breaks, I would buy another one.
