Somewhere, I found a load data chart that gave load data for various surplus powders for various calibers. I can't seem to find it and was wondering if any of you on here could give me a link to it. Thanks

Burning rate charts

They tell you something, but not that much. Especially with bulk powders, the burning rate varies considerably. Burning rates also change depending on variables such as case shape.

Thanks for that link, unfortunately it only covers commercially labeled powders not military surplus powders like Data Powder and pulled powders. A chart that covered both production and surplus would be very beneficial.

Surplus powder, especially those supplied by AA have reloading data from AA. http://www.accuratearms.com/datapowder.htm

Pull down or surplus powders form places like GI Brass
etc is sold with suggestion to use canister powder reloading data as point of reference. These powders need really have had prudent load work up! They are not expected to be the same as say IMR4895 you buy at Sportsmans Warehouse.........

I have the load data for Data Powder but I have to guess where they fall on a burn rate chart when compared to production powders. Ideally, it would be nice to see a burn rate table that includes all powder so that when you want to, or have to, switch from a pull down powder to a production powder you can find one with similar characteristics.

There is no way to cross reference period a surplus powder and a canister grade powder, and a prudent reloader would never ever try to interpolate such nonsese with canister powder burn rate charts. There have been fast lots of the same surplus powder in the past. Each time you switch powders you need to work the load up especially with surplus powders. Canister grade powders are marketed with a reasonable expectation of continuity of characteristics.....from lot to lot!

The main suppliers of reloading data have not provided loading data for surplus powders for a reason, there is no continuity. You seem to want things handed to you on a platter! That is not going to happen!

When ever you buy surplus powders buy a lot of it at the same time to ensure you get the same lot# so your loading data can carry over...

I have to assume you don't understand what we are asking for because a knowledgeable reloader wouldn't have thrown in the "You seem to want things handed to you on a platter!" comment.

What I am looking for and I believe that hornadylnlis a table that lists all the powders, surplus and commercial, in order of their burn rate. The only way you can make an informed decision when changing powders is to know their burn rates. So before your go off and start ranting about building up loads like have been doing in your other post the burn rate table is only for deciding which powder to choose when switching from one to another, nothing the standard practices of building up loads needs to be followed. When switching powders unless you select a powder with the similar burn rate you're just grabbing a powder out of the air in hopes it will work well with your firearm.

Okay, so you were looking for load data. I thought you were looking for the same thing I was, and that was a burn rate chart like this one but also listed the surplus powders too http://www.reloadbench.com/burn.html
