is there any harmless way to do this? mine did not come with the grooves.

duh

Ask a better question. I haven't the foggiest idea what you are talking about. Pretty vaque of a question. Are you talking about the mount or the mount for the gun.

The question is pretty clear if you know anything about SVTs. But at least you gave him a bump. :)

Without the grooves, I think you are out of luck. There isn't a whole lot of aftermarket options for these guns. I wouldn't put a lot of faith in anyone making a scout mount to fit the rear sight or anything like that as some other milsurps have available.

Heck, even for an SVT with the grooves, the scope mounts are outragously priced.

stoli. thanks fer yer interest. i will work on composing questions for those who know less on a subject than i do. not sure how though. DMK,thanks, thats about what i thought. i can live without it. i won't get it machined either,as i guess it would be out of series.

It's a good excuse to buy another one! ;)

Just curious, how does yours shoot? What kind of ammo do you shoot in it?

I bought one a little while back. I haven't shot it yet though.

i hate to admit i actually bought it as a wall hanger. the first one i saw was in the early sixties, and for whatever reason i could not talk my father into buying me that rifle when i was 9. it would be interesting to know where it came from in 1962. so i bought one sometime later. i have a good handful of every type of 7.62 x54 i ave ever seen for sale, and i have a gas adjuster tool, too. i will get back wth you.
