T/C encore accuracy?

C'mon up to Kansas City and I'll take that bet. I've got a brand new Encore barrel that's never been used.

I understand that you've had some trouble with yours. But that doesn't mean that they're all like that. I had a BAR Safari that I couldn't get to group for nothing. Most people don't have any problems with them. I don't post in BAR threads calling them sewer pipes though. I gives the facts about what mine did and acknowledge that mine could have just been different than most.
how bout you post pics of two 5 shot groups fired back to back over as much time as you wish and we'll save the travel time

why wouldn't a break action be accurate? does it have something to the looseness of the receiver to barrel lock?

it has to do with the way they headspace, lockup how the parts connect to one another and to an extent yes the "loosness" required for the rifle to function

To put it simply on a bolt action or any other rifle action the mechanics of locking the breach are centered with the axis of the bore. On a Break action these elements are offset by about an inch below the axis of the bbl and thus the harmonics involved in firing

Off topic, but how many Savages do you own?

I know how well mine shoots and I'm happy with it. I'm not the one trying to convince people that they'll a get shotgun pattern group. I'm not the one claiming a $250 rifle will "shoot circles" around it. And I'm not the one claiming "I've been there and had the T shirt" and saying that I'd win the bet. Buy yourself a $250 rifle and c'mon up if you wanna win.

Right now, none. Believe it or not

But I have owned as many savages and or different bbls as I have encore bbls. The difference is the savages never grossly disappointed me in the accuracy dpt as the break actions guns did. In fact I sold all my Encore stuff to fund my first savage build which is what I should done at the start, I wish I could have back all the $$ I flushed down the toilet on encores

I'm getting about an average of 1.8" out of mine. I've got a few groups at about 1.1", and a few near 2.5", but they are about 1.8" most of the time. I've only had it for a few months and need to work up a load for it. The barrel I kept is a .308 Bergara (sp?).

Not fantastic accuracy, but good enough for whatever I end up using it for. I bought someone's "package deal" and sold off the extra stocks and barrels and scopes, ended up with a $460 stainless encore in .308 which includes an older Leupold vari-x II scope.

If I ever sell it I'll make money off the deal, so I'm pleased with it. I do like how short it is overall with the 24" barrel, and it balances well, but I'm neither wowed nor disappointed in the accuracy department. If I had paid for a new one I'd probably be disappointed, at least accuracy wise.

very accurate, go to a centerfire silhouette pistol competition, almost everyone will have a T/C. Of course most will be using .22 hornets. My Brother-in-Laws T/C with a 30-30 is extremely accurate once you get used to it, quite a kick for a pistol

If you want accuracy from an Encore go to http://www.eabco.com/InStock.htm. Get a custom .260 barrel for $325. Which is only about $25 more for a 26" heavy barrel from Midwayusa. At least pick up their locking hinge pin. It keep the pin from drifting side to side between shots.
