I'm a bit reluctant to post details here, as one never knows who browses where. Let it suffice to say, the situation involves narcotics, burglary, arson, and family on the PD. (All involving someone else.) If there are any that can give sound advice, please PM for details.

Bob, this doesn't involve any action on my part. This involves a dope dealing neighbor that has family in the MPD. "Anonymous calls," are somehow magically known by neighbor in question, and some activities have been done to quash speaking out. Lawyer's aren't really an option. A way of contacting non biased MPD would be nice.

Great. So someone is being terrorized by criminals that are "connected" for "daring" to interfere with their illegal activities. Jesus Christ that's sad. I'd go to the State Attorney General. Going to the police seems to be a riskier proposition.

Would internal affairs be out of district? Any call to district 4 is known about in short order by folks in question.

MPD - I presume you mean Milwaukee? Gee, I'm shocked.

There is a local Internal Affairs deparment. I would hope that they are relatively insulated from the department itself so you wouldn't run into these problems you are having, but I couldn't say for certain.

Milwaukee Police Department
Internal Affairs Division
6680 North Teutonia Avenue
Room 325
Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53209

They have a procedure for filing a specific complaint.

You can also contact the Police and Fire Commission although I'm not sure of their procedure exactly.

SHOOT THEM

....video camera. comings and goings. Especially if this guy is any bigger than some lowlife (i.e. if he has no day job he may be pretty high up.) you could clean the heck out of the neighborhood..

I second contacting IA, unless he has people in IA, and then call the freaking DEA on them. Drug dealers are filth.

How important is it, to you, to be involved?

Thus far I've tried to be as far from the situation as possible, other than associating occasionally with another neighbor that has called, and seems to have drawn the most wrath. However, I have had the most peculiar of burglaries occur... Kind of a not so subtle **** gesture.

internal affairs?

this same problem happened in my old neighborhood in NYC.
My guess is a confidental informant had an arrangement with the local
LE or a family member was in the PD.
The local street thugs always knew who called the cops and
(being NY) had no fear of kicking in your door and kicking in your face.

Of course good libbys always were shocked when they found out that cops won't protect them and it's near impossible to get a gun in time to protect your self if you don't already have one.:barf:

I would say document everything, write down names and times, take pictures.
maybe the state police and internal affairs

You hit the nail on the head there. I really don't give a rat's hindquarters about this, but I'm stuck in the neighborhood for awhile, and the aforementioned burglary, along with every damn cop car/fire investigation van being parked in front of the homestead last month are pushing things over the edge.

Don't know how is is there, but around here the State Police usually end up handling any malfeasance by local police. And they're pretty straight up about it as well.

Yes, but is there anyway to go about it without throwing my name out? Habeas corpus ad testificandum and all that. Family+ narcing=bad ju ju.

If as you suspect collusion is occurring between criminals and parts of the local police department you have a real tough problem. The biggest part of that problem is knowing who to trust and who not to.

Try and get as much objective evidence and facts as you can. Not speculation, hearsay etc. Video tapes of comings and goings etc. work best.
When you have verifiable information showing possible corruption you will then need to contact a separate agency. A state level agency might be able to help but if the agency in question is large it may require the efforts of a large agency experienced in dealing with corrupt organizations. For this the FBI may actually be the agency to contact.

Dealing with corrupt people in power is dangerous. Be very careful you don't end up on the hook.

Getting video wouldn't be all that hard. But would it be sufficient to mail a VCD, and typed letter to get the wheels of justice turning?

Does your state have a governing law enforcement agency? For example, here in Florida we have the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement. If so, try contacting them. You may also have luck contacting Internal Affairs dept of a State agency like Highway Partrol. While they may not have jurisdiction to act locally they could contact impartial IAD officers that can. If this fails, you may want to contact your states Attorney General's office.

I don't think the FBI could be much direct help. They operate under the authority of US Attorney and Justice Department to investigate federal offenses. I doubt they could make an argument that an enire law enforcement agency is a "currupt orginization" (which usually pertains to orginized crime) as defined by RICO. What they could do is direct him to the best source to investigate his situation.

I agree. It seems to be only one family member, that responds anytime the neighbors call. However the fact that anonymous calls that don't result in a squad being sent being known about leads me to believe the problem may involve a few more:cuss:

Yes, they are armed. That is a certainty. An individual brandished to an oh so threatening octogenarian:cuss:

Make sure that you are prepared to defend yourself from these guys, in case they notice what you are doing.

Go as high up the ladder as you can, hopefully you might get to someone not under their influence.

If it were important enough to me, or it happened to me, i think i'd make as much noise as i could to as many agencies as i could, dea/fbi/state police/state-attorneys office/united-states attorneys office/etc.

HOWEVER, before i did that, i'd be prepared to move out on a moments notice, and it seems as if you should be too. This sounds waaay too potentially serious to have your family, or yourself, living anywhere near it. Best of luck however you choose to deal with it. Keep us posted.
