I was browsing in my local shop today and seen a H&K USP Compact 9mm on consignment, the price was $550. The thing that really caught my eye is that it looked new, I asked to see it so I could look it over, and you wouldn’t have guessed this was a used firearm. Even the bore/barrel looked perfect, it is a variant 9, and had tritium night sights. The person helping me put it back in the case, and I was going to go home and think about it.
Right before I was going to leave someone asked to see the same gun. I then pretended to look at some other guns while he was looking at the HK I was interested in. He gave it back to the dealer, the dealer put it back in the display. Then the other guy interested took out his cell phone, the guy was still looking at the gun through the display while on his cell phone. I then told the dealer that I wanted to buy the gun.
The dealer then took the gun back out of the case, and the guy that was on his cell phone said to the dealer “Im interested in that gun where are you taking it.” The dealer said “It just sold.” The guy on the cell phone said (in a very upset/stern voice) “Never Mind!” into the cell phone to whomever he was talking to , then immediately walked out of the shop.
In the end after tax and CA fees it cost 624.89.
It only came with the gun, and 1 magazine.
The only information I got about the gun is that it had less than 100 rounds through it.
What do you guys think about the price? Perhaps it was a lemon he’s trying to salvage his money on...? Maybe this was not that great of a price..? What do you all think?
