So I'm sitting outside yesterday, waiting for class with another student. A male student she knows sits down and looks at my "I heart (love) my Glock" tshirt and says "Whoa dude, that's intense"! I asked him would he have the same reaction if it said "I heart my Chihuahua"? He says well Chihuahua's don't kill people. I calmly say "I'm sure they would if crammed far enough down one's throat" and then I smile.

"Uh yeah ,I guess so" and starts talking to another student that just sat down.
Now before you say I should have taken the time to educate etc., no, I wasn't in the mood.

I don't know, the score looks like a dead heat to me: one snappy comeback versus one gun owner stereotype confirmed. Another case of winning the battle but losing the war.

Not to sound too critical, but if you advertise "I love my Glock" while on a notoriously liberal college campus, maybe you shouldn't be surprised when people comment.

Well

I wear lot's of gun related shirts. Makes for great educational experiences when I get questions. I try to work it into classes, I gave a speech in technical writing about getting your concealed carry with lot's of stats to combat misinformation and got an "A" from my very liberal instructor. I had to do a PowerPoint demo on a topic, guess what it was? I'd have been more than happy to engage this fellow in conversation, but he was too busy being 19 and trying to be cute. I also don't discuss politics or art with my dogs.

My buddy in Saudi Arabia just bought me a hat that says something like "Dont hurt me I am unarmed" "million mom march"

Thats going to the range with me.

Inferno You say it is going to the range with you. As a target or topic of discussion??

Hmmm now that I think of it I probaby should duck when walking in on the range. It was orginally so I could ???? with the college students.

Jamie C., you came very near to owing me a new wireless keyboard.

I wonder if a chihuahua stuffed in a sock makes a good blackjack?

I thought Texas was supposed to be gun friendly?

If I did that, I'd probably be asked which Glock. Or get some remark about how much better the 1911 is.

Wonder what kinda range you'd get launching a chihuahua out of a catapult? Maybe a mortar?

Oooh, one of those pvc spud guns!

Anything kills at high enough velocity. Works better if you freeze the little buggers first, but then you have more worries about overpenetration.

Topic: Chihuahua caliber wars.
They do come in different sizes: small and fast; smaller and faster.

Chihuahua's don't kill people.
Those little hyper-thyroid rat-dogs that I've seen typically displayed an attitude that would cause me to wonder if they wouldn't kill people, given the means.

One of the young ladies at my workplace attends UTArlington and borrows my NRA-Life hat (with the scrambled eggs) for her history class. She says that's the only course where it generates even mild notice. Guess Arlington isn't Austin.

my parents still have a chihuahua that they have owned for a good 11 or so years. if you are not a member of the family, he WILL attempt to sever fingers and such... made for a couple bad starts to dates as a kid lol..

he has the fearless mentality of a pitbull, and is human and dog aggressive. even though he is a genetic freak at like 12lbs, he is still too small to cause extreme bodily harm. if he was a larger breed, he would have had to be put down no doubt... or we would have been sued into oblivion by one of the 25 or so people he has bitten in his lifetime :D

Sorry, Slam_Fire...

You plan on reading much of anything I have to say, you might wanna consider some kind of "spray shield" for your keyboard, since I tend to cause a lot of spitting and sputtering, for some unknown reason....

As for the chihuahua.... don't bother with the sock. Just grab their hind legs and start wailing. ;)

P.S. For all of y'all "poo pooing" CentralTexas' remark to the Nancy-boy... keep in mind that he did say that NB was a "19 y.o. idiot".... That by it's self says he (N.B.) already had his mind made up about everything in the world, and was therefore not worth trying to "educate". Best bet, in that instance, is just to send 'em away muttering and confused. ( They're a lot less harmful, in that state/condition. )

...or how about "not unless the chihuahua has a bayonet lug or a high capacity magazine or a silencer."

OOooh, there's a thought- silencers for chihuahuas.
:)
