rhino:

Great thread! I like the picture-heavy warnings! Okay, here are some pictures, but "aged"...a few months, some a few weeks. Range trip tomorrow should provide more opportunities.

First up: Remington M700 Police, .308 Winchester. It has a B&C Adjustable Tactical stock, Ferrell 20 MOA G-Force rail, Leupold Mark 4 30mm rings, Timney 4 ounce tactical trigger, a Nightforce 12-42X56 benchrest scope and a nice harris bi-pod. Sample of steel target provided. :D

Next is a Winchester M70 Stealth, .308 Win. It has a factory original B&C stock, Ferrell 0 MOA rail, Nightforce 30mm rings, Nightforce 3.5-15X56 scope and a Harris bi-pod. This was the rig I took deer hunting this year. Never mind I saw no deer on our property. I assure you, the deer had a meeting, and they voted to avoid the property where the Winchester Stealth was deployed.

Heres some of my Howa M-1500 .308<----(terrible cartridge (is what Jake1996 told me) sporter, it's an everything rifle, as it's MY only centerfire that I get to take wherever I go.

jd, that's pretty good shooting too! not exactly clear on the diagramming you're doing between bullet holes :) but those are some nice groups!

edited to add: i don't even have a pic of my varmint rifle, but it's a rem700 etronix in 220 swift with a leupold VX-L 6-20x and the 1/10th MOA target turrets

The diagramming (SP) was for a science fair project I was doing what determined the gun prefers Hornady 165 grain BTSP. (some groups were really good not posted)
and it was to make the "groups within a group" clear.

JDM:

Man! Ya gotta love those DPMS varmint rigs, especially wit a stainless barrel.

I just recently acquired this to fill my heavy accuracy rifle void that was in my collection. It's built on a right bolt left port savage target action, the barrel is a 30" McGowan chambered for .308win. I'm hoping my sightron sII 4x16x42mm target scope will arrive tomorrow (thanks jbkebert)

In just starting out on my load development saga but I've already been rewarded by more than a few sub .6" 5shot groups, even with the 12x duplex reticle scope pictured As I dial
things in I fully expect to drop well into sub .5moa territory for 100 and 300m groups.

Love those Howa's...had two of them in Richards Microfit stocks... .308 and .223...have only the .223 heavy barrel left with Japanese Tasco 6x24 scope....will post pics later.

The following is currently employed solely for long range target use, but if I can find a spot to do a bit of varmint plinkin' I plan to give it a go. It is a Desert Tactical Arms- Stealth Recon Scout bullpup in .300 Win. Mag. The optics are provided by a Premier Reticles Heritage 5-25x56mmMTC sitting atop a 40MOA base. I mostly shoot steel (which is to say I am too lazy to place targets), so I don't have any groups, but it is capable of 0.25MOA (and this is repeatable!) on a good calm day (or any day in the hands of a great marksman that judges wind better than I).

The next one is a new addition that I picked up just for the action and stock. I originally intended to re-barrel it in .280Rem. and use it for a deer rifle, but this one shoots well, is useful for young folks (and those that are recoil sensitive), and has a twist fast enough for heavy bullets. It is a Parker Hale 1200-Super Varmint Mauser chambered in 6mmRem; scope is a Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42mm gloss. If I can find a farmer looking to rid himself of those pesky groundhogs...i'd be more than happy to give her a shot as well.

One day I am going to have to get out the Dig camera and overload my computer with pic files (maybe tomorrow or after x-mas) but my little ole list is as follows:

Varmint,
Custom .220swift built on a Mauser action with a Hart barrel now sitting in a Precision Ballard lowboy (was a mighty tough fit but we got it finally) Prints well into the sub MOA range as long as my blind rear does what Im supposed to.

Another .220swift on a TC pro hunter frame. Also prints well into sub MOA

22.250 Hart barrel on a Savage 110 action in a McMillan stock. Prints WELL into sub MOA

Plain Jane .223 Savage 110. Also prints well into sub MOA but I had to lap the hell out of the barrel to get it to as well as recrown and glass bed the action.

Target rifles, Well I guess that would be about every other rifle I own. I tend to take them all to the range at one time or another.

CZ 550 Varmint Laminated Stock .22-250 topped with a Bushnell Elite 4200 Tactical 6-24x50

It is my favorite, because it is the only dedicated centerfire varmint rifle I have. I picked it because CZ has a great reputation, the gun looks terrific and I was sold on the single set trigger. In the end it was down to the CZ, the Remington 700 VLS (still looking to buy one) and the Savage 10 FCV.
I haven't even shot it yet

I want that DTA mav.
The bad news is, I don't think I am quite ready to part with it yet...but the good news is I think they made two! :D Thanks for the kind words, JD.

BTW, the .300WM isn't that costly if you handload (a great deal better than the .338LM that I considered to begin with).

:)

DoubleA, What the heck happened to the nice photos you originally posted? Wow 2 steps forward 3 steps back.
