What can I say except for TOP NOTCH. I'm almost speechless.
On Monday the 10th I went to the local post office and sent out the factory magazine and recoil spring to my dad's old PT-945. This pistol sits, loaded, under the counter at our business and has been for the better part of 12 years anyway. I shoot it for fun here and there and we got the pistol second hand. Who knows how many rounds this gun has fired. It always functioned 100% ..well it stopped functioning 100% and started having huge FTF issues so I figured sending the recoil spring and mag spring to be replaced should solve the problems. I called Taurus and they said sure send them in for replacement.
Almost three weeks go by with no word from Miami so I call them up and ask what the deal was. The guy tells me they never recieved my stuff. Great, now the PT in PT-945 stands for PaperweighT. I called the Post Office and they politely told me that since I didn't pay for tracking or insurance I'm outta luck. Yay.
So I called Taurus back and told the woman my tale of woe and asked if I could buy a recoil spring and magazine and how much it would cost. Magazines are listed at $32 on their website but they don't list parts. The girl on the phone tells me they will send me replacements free of charge and asks for my address so she can ship them out right away! How is that for service??? Say what you want about their firearms but I love them. The neglected 945 that sits and accumulates dirt, moisture and rust is a solid gun. I can't wait to get her back in running order. With service above and beyond like that, I'm a Taurus customer for life.
Hopefully my stuff will arrive tomorrow or Friday so I can take it to the range this weekend with my Colt WWII repro that just came back today from Colt for some warranty work. You have to love companies that treat their customers right.
