Hey folks... I recently bought a Taurus PT111 Pro. I totally loved it... it worked without a hickup until yesterday. I'd pull the trigger all the way back and... no click! I popped out the round and tried again and it worked for one more shot. Then I couldn't shoot again. I can't even get the gun open because I have to click the trigger when removing the slide.

Does anybody have any ideas besides just sending it back to Taurus?

Thanls

Field strip. Check the trigger bar inside the frame to see that it's moving correctly when the trigger is pulled back. Then check the underside of the slide to make sure the catch on the back of the striker isn't broken. The mechanism is pretty easy to figure out.

ooooh, i just reread and saw that you need to pull the trigger to field strip. I forgot about that and I own one of the damned things :)

Don't know what to tell you now.

Ok... i done figured it out!

I managed to field strip my PT-111 (with non functioning trigger) by removing the pin, then trying the following process several times:

1) Pull the slide back
2) ease the slide back towards normal resting position while clicking the trigger...
3) eventually I got the trigger to kind of click and managed to get the slide off

Turns out that I had a pin loose which was blocking the trigger. I pushed the pin back and put some lock tite in that sucker, and a day later, it was good as new.

What pin are you talking about? I have one of those too and want to keep an eye on that pin every time I clean it. Thanks.

Are you talking about the Sear Pin 3.24 ? I own a Pro Mil. 9mm also and would like to know what pin if this ever happens to me

I believe it was the front ejector pin. Part 4.8 in my manual. The pin was loose and had pushed far enough into the trigger mechanism to block it. I simply pushed it back with a small metal pick. It was still loose so I Lock Tited (blue) it. No problem anymore... it seems quite solid.

I'm really relieved I managed to get that thing apart! It totally ruined my day when it happened... all I could think was: "I should have got a Glock!". But this gun is so much sexier than a g26 and cheaper to boot.

I at least feel slightly relieved because it was such a simple failure. I hope its the last. I had read a lot of glowing reviews of the PT-111 and her sister pistols, but since I ordered it I found quite a few complaints of the plastic rails and such breaking after excessive use. That reminds me... NO +P in this one, folks! So the manual says...
