I have a Taurus PT-99 that I picked up used, and I know nothing of its history. This is same as a PT-92, but with adjustable sights. I am pleased with it, but I am concerned about some wear on the locking block. The two ears that stick out and contact the slide have the corners rounded off a bit. From the design of the piece, it is obvious that this type of wear is inevitable.
It looks like the worst failure would be a failure to extract, and it would fail with the breech locked. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Is this the result of "breaking in" or "wearing out"?
