Taking the Buy a gun with your tax refund thing seriously.......

Here's what Aim Surplus and Sportsmansguide did for me. I'll try to get some better pics of the K-31 and the M38 later. They were both great deals from Aim. The spotting scope from sportsmansguide was just something I've always wanted. I also have ordered a synthetic Monte Carlo stock and scout scope mount and scope for my M44, but haven't arrived yet.

Scott,

It is good to see you scored good on some milsurps. I have a K-31 Schmidt-Rubin. They are awesome rifles for the money. Have you checked under the buttplate for the name and info of the soldier that carried your K-31? The soldier who carried mine was named Hans Kamber. I have his info and am planning on writing him. I hope he is still alive.
It is good to see you are still doing well.

Jim,
It's good to see you're still around too. I had forgotten about the name under the buttplate. I checked, mine has a plastic piece with the name Eidg. Zeughaus Zurich. I'll have to investigate further as time permits.

I am amazed at the condition of both of these rifles. The K31's stock is a bit beat up but not bleached out like I've heard of some being. The rifle itself is all matching parts (including the magazine) and in excellent condition. Well spent 79.00.

The M38 is matching parts and in great shape. The flyer said it would have surface rust but I can't find any on the rifle. The bolt shows to have had some rust on it but it's already been removed with only a small pitted area in the area near the safety. For 49.00 I expected a M44 stock but was pleasantly surprized to see a M38 stock as well.

Aim Really did me right.

Hmm. I called AIM Monday about a M38 and they said they wouldn't have any for 3 weeks. I need to check back.
