"Oldfella" - Yep, that's it; born in 1917 and still kicking. Weather and aches and pain permitting, I make it to the shooting range each week. Not too good at it, hands shake a bit and the recoil hurts a bit, but still at it; and God willing I'll make it past 100. So, my friends, you all make it too and have fun while at it.

James Bondrock was a cartoon character who appeared in an episode of "The Flintstones." I wanted a name associated with feats of derring-do (the opposite of my real personality!) , but not too serious. ;) It just sort of came to me. The signature line is what beautiful women said to him several times during the episode, and his reply. :D

One of my kids was just starting to speak in coherent sentences. I was watching the History Channel or something and was waiting for something else to come on, but the episode I was watching had a "mythical beasts" theme. It got into the part of the Abominable Snowman. Well, Brandon started to try to say "abominable snowman" and mangled it.

It was pretty funny at the time, and it kind of became the household joke for a while, and.......well, the next thing I knew............

When my grandaughter was born I wanted a unique name for her to call me. I mean you hear Grandpa, Paw-Paw, Pappy, Big Daddy, Pepaw, etc. all the time. But, I think that I'm the only PawDaddy!

"Steve" is taken all the time, so I shortened it. Easy to remember, and it helps me login faster. That and it's never taken.

(Not an acronym for anything, btw.)

Prompt Critical: The term used to describe when the power output of a nuclear reactor increases at an uncontrollable rate. Chernobyl did this. :what:
This condition has absolutely nothing to do with a nuclear bomb detonation.

BTW: Nuclear power is safe. I get just as enraged when ignorant morons without a clue tell me how nuclear power is evil as we all do when the same idiots say guns are evil. :cuss: Notice how its always the same idiots? Wierd huh?

Point of enlightenment: The technical term used when a nuclear reactor is operating and producing power is "Critical." So everytime I see a movie where someone screams "THE REACTOR HAS GONE CRITICAL!!!" and runs away, I just LMAO.

Sorry about the long soapbox thread.

Well ahhh....

Was in a drive thru at a burger joint ordering my meal asket for a "Dr." to drink withit and the idiot taking the order asked "withawhat" not " with a what?" just withawhat........ Guess you had to be there.

When I first signed up, (recently), I said to to me ....

Now who am I?

And there it was.

Profound huh

I like to collect military rifles and the first time I loged onto the TFL I was trying to brainstorm a name. I happened to have a springfield stock sitting in the room with a big split in it...

The front right wheel of a MP Humvee ran over my chest Damn that hurt.

"The Badger" in Spanish--nickname given to me by those sitting at the other table from my LEO daze. Works really well since the Fashionable Bachelor Pad is called "Alcazar del Tejon.":)

Nickname is derived from the fact that badgers are furry, huggable and lovable just like me (well, at least I'm furry--with my shirt off).:D

one of the guys on my high school lacrosse team was also in my spanish class. We had those dorky "spanish" names, so he only knew me by mine (nico). When he saw me at the first practice, he called me nico and then everybody else did too. When i tried to register for this site, Nick (my real name) was already taken so it was the first thing to come to mind.

If you saw the inside of my garage, you'd know why my daughter told her friend that was her dad's rust collection.

It was my niece who told her teacher that her grandma was having surgery for her asteroids.
