For those of you in Texas, please contact your representative to make sure this bill moves forward. Burt Solomons is my representative and sits on the calendars committee - it has to get a slot on the calendar to move forward. If he is your rep, contact him (contact info http://www.house.state.tx.us/members/dist65/solomons.php). Otherwise, contact your rep, even if not not on the calendars committee, to put pressure on the committee.

Below is my letter.

Citizens of the Great State of Texas who get their CHL should not be prevented from defending themselves on campuses. Schools are not crime-free, they are simply a criminal empowerment zones since criminals know no law abiding person is carrying a firearm.

I am an alumnus of Virginia Tech and wish someone had a concealed handgun on them that fateful day. Please move House Bill 1893 forward and allow law abiding citizens to defend themselves on campuses.

Respectfully,

...
