I recently started a blog dedicated to the Ruger 10/22 at: www.1022Companion.wordpress.com. I’m an Appleseed instructor and work with scores of people using 10/22s every year; many are having issues with their rifles that a little knowledge would easily remedy or prevent. A few times per year I teach a workshop on 10/22 maintenance and customization. I’ve done a lot of DIY stuff on my 10/22s. I love these little rifles and have a few, with about four more in various configurations on my shopping/build list.
The blog covers operating tips, DIY function tweaks, new product reviews, interesting rimfire shooting events, and other topics of interest as they come up. Updates will not be daily. So far we have articles on correctly making the rifle safe, an unusual malfunction situation, a foolproof way to operate the OEM bolt release, a review of the Kidd single-stage trigger group, an easy way to reduce trigger overtravel, and a series on sight adjustment and .22LR ballistics. Among the new articles we are working on are setting up and using different types of slings, best practices for cleaning your 10/22, a comparison test of snap caps, and how to select the best prescription eyeglasses for shooting.
I’m always looking for new article ideas. If you have a question or suggestion on something I should write about, please email me at [email protected] .
The blog is non-commercial and doesn’t sell anything. Nor does it harvest information about its readers. It’s just a blog. Each article has a comments section where contributions from readers are welcome.
Thank you for reading this.
