We could use a google earth layer file to plot us all by location Any interest? I'd be willing to maintain it if you guys care

Sounds like a plan to me!

As for the member count, I had been tracking how many x42s and other J Frames have been sold as a direct result of this thread. I haven't updated the count in months, I'll start working on that. It may be a little while, but I'll get it caught up so long as the next 1000 don't come in 25 days :D .

I just updated the member list in post 3029 with a "comma-separated list"
(which takes up far less "space" on the page)
supplied complements of Headless.
(Thanks, Headless!)

Thanks Headless for the formatting and Nema870 for the update.
Are there 500 there? I tried counting earlier but kept being interrupted.
That single column made this a tough page.

If this is not the best use of an online gun forum, what is? Heck there's probably more posts scattered around THR about "what caliber for grizzly bear" - the majority of which are from folks who have about as much a chance of ever seeing a grizzly bear as having an asteroid fall on their head.

If there's a better place to thoughtfully research owning and carrying snub revolvers on the internet, I would like to see it. Where else can someone ask questions and actually get answers from folks like "OldFuff" or Jim March or Stephen Camp all of which probably know more about S&W revolvers than Mssrs. Smith or Wesson ever thought possible . . . or, gunsmiths like Matt Alameda, holster makers like Robert Mika, ammo manufacturers like Tim Sundles, etc. etc. etc. . . .

Art, #3019 is a bullseye post. I couldn't agree more.

Nem/Headless, thanks for posting the member list. I like the comma-delimited format.

This is a great idea!

I hereby and heretofore appoint Headless to be the Official 642 Club cartographer/geographer/google admin. Just tell us what(if anything) we must do to help make this happen.

So, we got an official pollster (that'd be me), a counter (JT), a cartographer (Headless).

Who a'my leaving out? :uhoh:

Sir Jad, but I can't remember what he's in charge of.
(Banker?)

O'Fuff no doubt needs a title (expert revolver guy ?).

And Stephen A. Camp (expert ammo tester/evaluator).

fiVe, of course, is kiNg of the club.

And all are named "sir".

(I vote that we get to have warrior goddesses, also.
We - especially those of us who are single - need to recruit far more women carrying 642s.
Hmmm. Goddess X. Works for me.)

Hey, soon, we're gonna have a virtual "Knights of the 642 Rnd Table".

...
..
.

:scrutiny:

Get it? "Rnd table"?

:D

OK, enough humor for one night.

I'm going back to work for a while...

:banghead: Oo, oo, oo, if we are going to have a village can I be (one of) the idiots?? :banghead:

:neener: If a court with knights can I be one of the Jesters? :neener:

Actually Sgt of Arms would be more my cup o tea.

Ha, My profession is actually cartography. :) I map out various things for the local county. Usually right-of-ways and parcel lines but sometime bigger stuff like city limits and what not. :)

Headless - Good idea about putting our locations on a map . . . I second fiVe's appointment.

Sounds like Iggy's idea is a possibility. Maybe we can get clipse to use his expertise to help us come up with the best option. As fiVe said, just let us know what we need to do to make it happen.

Clipse that is some powerful good shooting. Iv'e a ways to go to get to that level. I'm going to have to stop drinking coffee before I go to the range.
Nice going and good report.

Sir CaluTEL - Numberer

Lady gunwife - Auditor

Sir ARTiger - Ammo tester

Thanks, JT. I knew I wuz leaving folks out.

I'd like to be a court jester, too. (Sometimes, pollsters just need to let loose a little bit  lest we take ourselves too seriously. :scrutiny: )

I can also volunteer as court biologist (my professional training lies largely there), so if we ever get into questions about anatomy, physiology, that sort of thing (as in ammo effects on biological systems and how they compare with gels), I can contribute to technical questions.

It'd be cool sometimes if other court members (lords, ladies, knights, and warrior goddesses) would chime in with what their court roles would be. Everything is important; no bit of expertise in anything is devalued in a court.

Clipse, just posted to your 642 review. As I said there, I'm still amazed at your shooting at 7 yds.

Are you sure that wasn't 7 feet? :neener:

clipse,

That was a great display of shooting in your 642 review thread. I've only put 50 rounds through my M&P 340 but I'd love to see the day that I could match your groups. I guess time'll tell.

Range Day....... Didn't really have to drive far. More like a walk behind the barn. I've been shooting as often as possible. Today I decided to see what this little handgun would do. I really like the 642. The only draw back to the CT is you can't see the red dot beyond 20 yards in full sunlight.

Nematocyst,

Our local range has markers at 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, and stops at 25 yards. I stopped my target at the 7 marker and it was suposed to be 7 yards. :)

The "thirteen pages".

I have reviewed the "thirteen pages" and found them to be acceptable. However, the following image from page 4 could possibly result in underfunding of my summer shoe budget:

Is gunwife licensed to kill?
No, But I do have a marrage license. However, that only makes you wish you were dead.
