The other day I stopped in at a local gun store and picked up Pietta Colt 1861 in 36 cal. and planed to go back and pick up some other BP revolvers. A few comments were made about a few item in the background of my pics so, I thought I would start another post that would cover the store a little better.
After eating breakfast I went to the gun store called The Bayou Gunslinger.

The owner Brandon has the shop set up with a western flare. He carries new and used firearms. He also has a lot of consignment guns in the store.

There’s the boss man right there.

He also has some military surplus.

But this is why I went back to the shop today, to pick up some more of these.

Bannockburn, can you guess which one I got?
To be continued.

The full-fluted 1860's are so gorgeous! That's the way ALL of them would look, given a little stronger steel recipe at the time...you hit a treasure trove of $145 revolvers, and you just made about 50 of us jealous! Great pix, too! Keep posting, and tell Brandon to stock more finds like these...THR members will become customers!

Brandon said that he would be more then happy to do sales and transfers.

Here is the next revolver I picked up.

Sorry Gunny but have been busy with work and with the new Grandbaby! Love the Rodgers & Spencer and the Whitney (never saw one before)! Very cool "stuff".

First Whitney I've seen, too...I can see the family resemblace to the Spiller & Burr. You got the deal of the year, Gunny, great finds!

Who made that Whitney?
I have one made by Palmetto. I don't believe they're available anymore. Palmetto wasn't known for very high quality revolvers .... but my Whitney seems to work fine.

I thought that looked like a Whitney in your original photo!

Is it marked "MOFRA" and/or have a double diamond logo on it?
"MOFRA" was the mark of MOFRA di Mainardi, an Italian manufacturer which later became Euromanufacture, (NOT Euroarms) later to become Palmetto who has since gone.

The only other markings on the Whitney in #31 and the SN# 380 on the bottom of the grip.

I gotta quit looking at threads like this. I have to look 3 times. Once at the intended material, once at the background and once more at the stuff i missed. I just caught the xp100 and the lugers in the display box.
