The Best 9mm Auto Pistol I've Ever Shot!

Having shot the cz75, not sure which model i agree its one of the most comfortable handguns ive ever shot...its also shoots pretty strait for me which says something cause i suck with pistols.

I bought a EAA Witnes P-S which is the small frame polymer cz clone. I like that one quite well also, and for the cost i couldnt pass up the cz type ergonomics.

Yes, like I said I've just not had the opportunity to shoot one.

I've considered buying one for a couple months.

I haven't shot either one. The single action version has a lot more appeal to me. The biggest surprise to me was how good/natural it felt in my hand. Kind of shocking that anything with factory grips feels good.

It's got to be leaps n bounds better to justify replacing my hi-power clone as a go to gun. Also we have a mag capacity limit here that is bothersome so I have even considered a compact version, still in da/sa.

I've got a match coming up at the end of this month maybe one of my tactical rifle buddies has a cz I can try out.

Since you mentioned considering a compact frame, I have to point you in the direction of the alloy-framed CZ 75D Compact / PCR / P-01... in my opinion, it is pretty much the perfect CZ. My CZ 75B was my favorite handgun until I handled (and promptly traded a non-CZ for) my PCR. Still has great CZ ergonomics, but the balance of the shorter slide is perfect. Both guns are super accurate, regardless of barrel length. My only gripe about my CZs is the admittedly heavy trigger pull, which I plan to amend in the future with a CGW kit. Also, if you don't like the decocker on the alloy-framed compact, you can get a manual safety on the steel compact. I personally prefer the decocker since I keep my weapons in Condition 2.

I love CZ's great guns and they fit well in the hand for me. DA/SA all the way!

I'm thinking of filing a lawsuit against flyingtiger85 for the cost of a new CZ-75. That is the amount of financial damage that this thread will likely cause me to suffer.
If he has to pay up you may have to forfeit the gun in the settlement!

If you like the 75B try a tanfoglio stock 2 with full aftermarket work done.

Mine has 5# 10oz DA / 1# 10oz SA and ready for Carry Optics division.
Yes they are nice! I have an Elite match in 10mm. Not quite as nice but a Great adjustable trigger. Shoot's better than I can see.

Can I disagree just a tad? While I'm a huge CZ-75 fan and think it's about the coolest-looking semi-auto pistol ever made after the 1911 ... the stock triggers and stock sights leave much to be desired. Great ergos (the 75 fits my hand like a custom glove), points well, excellent balance and sublime looks ... but I don't think one can say the CZ-75 is that close to "perfect." Up there with the best, for sure, though. Durable, supremely reliable and great range or duty guns, yeah. However, I considered my bright stainless CZ-75 to be the prettiest auto-loader I've ever owned ... (the OP's matte stainless is my second favorite 75).

I have just put the CGW kit into my PCR and you'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands now! LOL! Got my DA down to 8.07lbs average of 5 pulls and 3.3lbs SA average of 5 pulls. Went from 3 notches to 2 barely noticeable notches during the DA and the SA is flipping fantastic.

My friend has a newish CZ75. It is on the slightly smaller frame.

I have an older Israeli-surplus Tanfoglio (TA90, maybe) on the larger frame, in 9mm. I also recently got a used EAA Witness on the larger frame - it's a polymer 45acp.

They are all excellent pistols. Since we both have very large hands, we both have a slight preference for the Tanfoglios.

Both of us have many pistols. Our favorite in both cases is our CZ75 varient in 9mm. The sights, grips, ergos, accuracy, etc are very very nice. We liked them so much that we both ended up with CZ-83's as well, but that's another story.

Many times I take 6-8 pistols to the range with someone that wants to try out a variety to get an idea of what they want. They almost always shoot the CZ75B best, but don't purchase one due to the size.

I want a PCR to put in the mix to see how that changes things.

I have a 75B, 75 Pre-B, a PCR, and the 97B. I carry the PCR, and agree it is probably the most versatile 9MM made. It is a great range, HD, AND carry gun due to its more compact size, and lightweight alloy frame. However, I do ultimately prefer the full size CZ's for the range, but both the 75B, and PCR accept my Kadet Kit. :)

Counterpoint - I've never fired a true-blue CZ but have fired the Tanfoglio variant. I wasn't particularly enamored with the ergonomics, I found the sights too small for my liking, I wasn't fond of the trigger geometry and since I use an overhand grip to rack the slide I felt like I could use more real estate on the slide to grip when cycling the slide. I didn't shoot it particularly well either which I attribute to the sights and trigger geometry. For the record and before anyone suggests that experience is because I am used to striker fired or single action platforms, I actually prefer DA/SA hammer fired guns and am very competent with them. The Tanfoglio/CZ just wasn't my cup of tea.
I feel the same way with the CZ and also Browning HiPowers. I have respect for what they are and realize they have served many very, very well over the years however they just aren't my favorites. There are many other models which I shoot better and feel better to me in my hands. That being said, I still own a HiPower just because it is an iconic piece that I respect, it just isn't one of my all time favorite shooters. I'm a weird duck though; my two favorite guns to shoot in my weekly Action Pistol meets are complete opposites really; a Nighthawk 1911 in .45 ACP and one of my numerous Glock 19s in 9mm. I also really enjoy shooting my Glock 32 in .357 Sig and that is generally my go to carry pistol in the winter months, with summer/spring/fall carry usually reverting back to one of my G19s.

I have a couple of CZ75 clones, a EAA SAR B6 and EAA SAR B6P compact. I really like these guns, so much so I bought a CZ75B and CZ75D compact. My wife and I went to the range the other day and tried them out. I really like shooting these too. Actually, my wife likes shooting the CZ75D better than her Glock 43, so it looks like I might have lost a gun.

My favorite 9mm and best shooting pistol.

Of my 5 CZ handguns the 85 Combat (mine's the standard black version) with CGW Ultra-Lite Kit is my favorite to shoot, as well. Not that I don't love the others, but if I had to pick one, it'd be the 85 Combat. I never understood why they weren't more popular (relative to the 75B) given the features they offer. I can only assume that a lot of people never considered the Combat, just bought the 75 B because that's what they'd heard about, handled or fired.

I am another fan of my PCR. Over the years it has caused me to retire or sell my BHP, Kahr PM9, Kimber Solo and Glock 26. I can't add to what's been said above because it all applies. It is a great gun for the range, carry or HD.

My BHP was my all time favorite 9mm until I got my Beretta M9. Since then, my BHP has almost become a safe queen.

And here's my latest CZ. It's one of the all-steel P01 compacts.
What a satisfying handfull. Did I mention its all steel?
Couple mods. FO front sight, Shadow hammer, 85 trigger and a Cajun kit.
Polished everything inside.
DA is 6# 1 oz, SA is 3# 2 oz.

After discovering who nice it is, I went looking for a FS SP-01 in 40 S&W.
Too bad, so sad, it's discontinued...

I fell in love with my PCR as soon as it hit my hands but the love affair faded at the range. For some reason I'm not shooting well with it. I could best it easily with my sd9ve, xds, and hi power on the same day. Maybe a trip to Cajun is in order. For certain there are few guns that feel as well in the hand and the super slim VZ grips are phenomenal for my smallish hands.

That's surprising. My PCR shoots as well as my 75B, despite the shorter barrel/sight radius.
