I think you made a great choice 357wheelgunner. A Taurus seven-shot 357 Tracker 4" would be another, IMO.
Ala Dan, et. al make a valid point about the first rule of the gunfight. "Have a gun!" Leaving the hand cannon at home because it is inconvenient to carry will not help when the chips are down.
But after someone threatened me and my family sometime back, I decided that carrying a little larger ccw was worthwhile in return for the extra capacity, caliber, and sight radius. I settled on the G21 with 14 (or 11) rounds of quality 45 ACP with decent velocity due to the long barrel and polygonal rifling. I sometimes have to remind myself that if I ever need my ccw, I will wish I had "more" gun with me.
This is a very personal thing, and each of us is responsible for making his/her own decision. I do enjoy hearing about the decisions folks have made, and why they made that decision, even if it is not for me. Something to think about, and who knows, I might decide I agree and change my ways. But even if I don't change, it is interesting and instructive.
