the CZ 75 in the hand, or the SA-35 in the bush?

I've had both CZ's and BHP in the past. I regret selling the BHP, not the CZ. I'd choose the SA35 sight unseen over a CZ.

I have both. If I could keep only one? The SA-35.
Like someone said, there are CZs everywhere and you can get one easily whenever you want. I've been shooting my SA-35 a lot lately and the CZ is generally in the safe, although it's a wonderful 9mm. It even has a Cajun Gun Works trigger job, but I STILL go for the SA-35 even with its more average trigger. :)

Edit: I do have a Hi-Power also, and I value the history behind these pistol designs. They're truly timeless in my opinion. I feel better about shooting the SA-35 continually, rather than putting wear on a very nice Hi-Power. They really are nearly identical.

I've shot both quite a bit,and they both have their good points and their bad points. The SA-35 is one of the best handling pistols I've ever had.It has a lively feel in the hands that just makes me think I can shoot it well, and I think I do.The trigger in the 35 isn't the greatest, and I'm going to do some polishing on it and see what happens. There's a notchy feel in it that's worse than the small amount of creep I feel in the CZ trigger. The slim profile of the 35 and its smaller, shorter grip makes it a little better to carry.I usually take the SA-35 if I'm going to be in a vehicle for any length of time.Put it in a shoulder holster and there's 16 rounds in a very good shooting pistol at the ready. If I could only have one of them,I'd go for the Springfield. But I'm on the lookout for a Shadow 2 at the moment. Both are very great pistols.

Have a nickled HiPo that is crawling up in value, so I hate to bang it up.
Had another HiPo with a relentlessly heavy trigger that is now gone.
Got a relatively early SA-35, and it has been great for fit and finish, and it shoots straight. It is back to the mothership with the extraction problems that are apparently common with early production. We'll see how good their CS actually is.
HiPos feel great in my hand, especially compared to other early double stacks, like a Smith M59.
The trigger is quite good, especially for a HiPo. (This last is puzzling, because the mechanism is both ingenious and simple; even if the sear motion changes direction 4 times)
BTW, the SA-35 is reputed to be a Turk, but they make great stuff.
For the OP, jump on that SA-35. They are worth having.

I own a few CZ75s and variants, and a few FN Hi-Powers.

The CZ75 is an objectively better pistol.

jabram: CZs might be everywhere, but among three Memphis gun shops I regularly patrolled, the first CZ recognized was a Rental I tried out, along with a Walther PPQ (Shoot Point Blank store/range) : a very cool P10 or P10c, as was the PPQ. But I prefer DA/SA handguns

The second and last CZ I ever noticed - it was five years ago - was a very rare miracle, the PCR (75D), had been returned to the store after only 50-100 rds. Grabbed it, and left it stock. I've owned worse DA triggers.

If the DA/SA modern CZs were easier to spot or more available 'in the flesh' (maybe I didn't recognize some), the publics' better opportunity to try the ergonomics would probably push prices a good bit higher?

Odd sidenote: I just bought an older surplus CZ-83 in .380, and it is the only handgun which I enjoy shooting about as much as my centerfire rifles.

Best not take any chances , get both . Or is a bad word . I have a CZ and a Hi-Power ( I do ) , yes much better . Or could mean possible regret . It’s Christmas time , reward yourself .

You have my permission to go with the SA P-35. CZ 75s are everywhere, the new SA P35 is a little hard to find just entering the market.

Not really and I suppose my little corner of paradise qualifies to be part of everywhere. CZ anything is seldom seen and so far I have never encountered a SA-35 to fondle. Being honest though I am not putting a lot of effort into looking as I bought a CZ-75 clone some time ago and am satisfied with it

I have both.

The Sa-35 out of the box was uninspiring, off it went to B H Spring Solutions and it is now how it should be, I'm pleased.

The CZ 75 D Compact PCR is fine as it is, following about 500 - 600 rounds. The trigger is a bit notchy, I wish it were a bit more fluid. If it doesn't smooth out soon, it may go to D G W for a trigger job.

Both have been retro-fitted with tritium night sights, my preference.

They are different pistols and should be understood as such.
