I've been wanting a 97b for a while...
I LOVE all my CZs including the 97b--word to the wise though--it was having trouble feeding rounds--as was my P -06--so I polished the heck out of the ramp-- perfect now!!!!

if this happens to you--polish the feed ramp first-- if it still happens them leave your new magazine loaded for a few weeks to loosen up that magazine as well

enjoy this great shooter--mine is going to the range today whoopeee!!!

Question boatdoc: what kind of feeding issues? I've had a couple of random fail to return to battery instances. I use my range brass reloads so I suspect that as the cause. Any info would be appreciated!

Have any of you colored in the letters on the slide? I have done other pistols with varying success depending on the depth of the letters. I have the color on hand that matches the red safety mark. Thoughts or pictures of what you have done? Then adding the Coco Boco grips to finish the look. Here's what I did tonight. Still not sure I like it or not. I will wait until I see it with the new grips to decide.+

Personally I hate the big red letters on the slide..think it cheapens the classic auto pistol look. Just One guys opinion...no offense!

Hi DRband

MY 97b had issues laoding cartridges--they woul d hang up on the feed ramp-- a little push of the slide was all that was needed BEFORE I could get home to fix the issue

the fix--a highly polished feed ramp--I used a dremel drill with wool pads and simichrome--works perfectly now--fired 100's of rounds since the issue -- no issue now --great shooter--competes with a 1911

hope that helps

Thanks for the detail. Not the issue in my case-- mine seems pretty tight where the extractor hook contacts the extractor groove on each case. As noted, only a couple of hang ups in several hundred reloaded rounds. Some of my cases are "well-used" and the base and groove are not perfectly smooth. I'm going to keep shooting as is and see if this goes away (hopeful). My ramp is already very shiny as it came NIB. My 1911s must have a little more room at the extractor because they never hang at that point. They also have many hundreds (one has thousands) more rounds down range, too.
My 1911 extractors tips have been "radiused" on the corners where the case slides in. Could be that the 97b extractor could benefit from the same treatment. We will see...

Polished up the extractor yesterday-- 100 rds down range today and no issues at all! Getting used to the trigger-- not in the same class as a 1911, but very, very good. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429645164.072133.jpg

Was able to get my paws on another gloss blued 75B, they seem to pop up every now and then.

Yee-hah! Finally got my RV85!

I essentially bought it from a pal two years ago and just got around to picking it up today.
True to his word - no surprise - he had it sitting on top of his safe and I stopped by to coerce him into playing hooky today and drink bee... er, eat late lunch. Surprisingly, he displayed unlikely responsibility and stayed at work but eventually sent me packing with this.

Being a serious fan of all things CZ, I shouldn't be surprised at the quality of these and yet, still am.

Crappy phone pic but a pic none the less.

Apache what is that?
RV85, 26.5mm "flare launcher".

A pal imported a passel of them and after I pissed on one, we lost track of it and I'm just now getting it.

There were a bunch of documented, supposed and mythological uses and projectiles for them. Here - now, folk "roll their own" for chalk rounds, illumination and others.

I'll put up some more photos when I bring my better camera home. As with all things CZ, this one comes with a humungous "test-fire" target. Really quite comical but cool none the less.

The quality of the item is outstanding and is just plain fun to handle and look at.

The Czech Guns & Ammo was running a series of articles on major world firearm manufacturers. They concluded the series this month with article on CZ.

At the end they are suggesting that CZ is developing a number of new models that are yet publicly unknown.

What do you think that CZ has on its drawing boards?

I hate to be a broken record, . . . . . . but I hope they have a thinner carry model in the works.

What should I look for if searching among used 83's ?

What bad things?

What good things?

Same same for 9x18 model?

Edit:

Just noted using the search that I have apparently never posted on the CZ Club. I shall look for pictures. I imported a CZ-75 (no B) in 1981 and still have it. Came in on a Form 6A as a returning service man. Got seized in Charleston and eventually sent all my other stuff in a neat wooden box. Charleston Customs actually apparently whipped every thing down before carefully packing things in a well made wooden crate. I was very pleased .....until my buddy pointed out the Charleston folks likely cleaned them from feeling guilty about playing with them all for six weeks!

Czech 82

I love my CZ 82. I bought it when they were still cheap. It is easily my most accurate pistol in my hands. It digests easily anything I feed it including my hand loads. I have recently started loading and shooting MBC 93 grain cast in it. I have no problem with leading despite the polygonal barrel. It is the one Communist Bloc guns that I will never get rid of. I feel perfectly comfortable carrying it concealed with "Silver Bear" 94 grain HP's.

I 2nd that motion ! Really like my CZ-82 and bought it cheaply with my C&R FFL.:)
Heard of an occasion whereby a guy and his CZ-82 outshot a guy with a Glock.:D

Last weekend I took a break from Turkey hunting to accompany my friend to the range on Sunday. He took his wife shooting for the first time. She had a blast. She asked him on the slide if I was a LEO. He asked why, and it was because I shot so well. Well, I don't consider myself to be a good shot, but CZ75s just point so well. This is 50 rounds at 10 yards...

a CZ 75 is one gun that I find myself wanting to buy for the past couple of years. it may be an old design; but it rocks. its the weight that holds me back. azrn

The have lightweight alloy framed versions of the CZ-75 in the 75D PCR, and P-01, in addition to the polymer P-07, and P-09.

How about conventional, thinner grips on the CZ-82? Just bought some excellent wooden Thai grips from a very helpful seller here.

The feel is not quite so unique, but to my slender hands they feel quite normal and the reduced width is a plus.
This is my first double-stack handgun and with these new grips it could be the carry gun next winter.

The Thai wood (maybe seen on E-Bay) looks even nicer than the Braz. "Pau Ferro" on my Sig 232.

I joined the club again with a new P-07. Two hundred rounds of FMJ and ~70 rounds of mixed hollowpoints, shooting two-handed, strong hand (right) only and some weak hand (left). All nearly flawless, save that once with my weak hand I could feel a delay in the slide's returning forward, but it still chambered the round and fired the shot. This is a "second generation" model with changeable grip backstraps, slightly "melted" slide edges, different-shaped trigger and reliability improvements.

This target is two magazinefuls at ranges from 3 to 15 yards, two-handed and one-handed.
