GZOh - The camera is Canon 10D, and I'm not sure I remember which lens I used. Fairly sure the one of the back of the P-01 is a 100 macro, but the other two just escape me right now. I'll check the exif data later if that's important.
BTW - These were done with multiple studio lights.
As for the P-01. I think I may have liked that one a bit more than the 75B, but for the trigger on the 75 - it had been broken in very nicely already. I had to get rid of one (agreement w/ wife) before I picked up something else I had m eye on, and the 75B was a gift from a dear friend and I'll not get rid of it. Ever.
So ... maybe some day I'll get another P-01. Great 9mm. Who knows?

Hey you all! CZ ROCKS! I'm so glad I found a CZ friendly board! I carry my 2CZ 75s with me almost every day (I have my CCW). I also have the CZ SP-01 and it is a great gun. I perfer my CZ 75, but I think that's because I've had it much longer that the SP-01. One of my next purchases is going to be the CZ 97 (see how it compare to my HK USP Compact .45 ACP).
I've had a number semi-automatic handguns over the years and I still have quite a collection, but CZs have been my favorit hands down. Out of my 9mms, I have a Ruger P95, Beretta 92, and High Point C-9 and none of them can touch my CZs (9mms anyhow).
Has anyone shot or own a CZ 97? I sure would like some feed back. I've never really traveled past the 9mm point, until I got the HK (which is an awesome gun on its own terms). I'm trying to branch out a little and get some different calibers.

Welcome to THR. A really great sight with some truly wonderful members. I just recieved my 97B, haven't shot it yet, but will get to this weekend.
I'll let you know how it shoots. The SA is pretty gritty right now, so plan on dry fring it a lot in an effort to smooth it out.
Going to replace the hammer in my 75 with the Angus Custom Shop hammer this evening. Plan on doin' some CZ'en this weekend.

I last posted on this board on page 2 or 3 in February, I think. Anyway, I did officially join - I bought a CZ 75B about 6 weeks ago.
It's the base blued(black) in 9mm as a range gun to save some
bucks at the range with 9mm and cut back a little with the .45s
I also have a S&W 1911 & 625.
I am very impressed with the fit/finish - the paperwork in Czech
sez it left the factory this mpast January. It's also been 100% reliable
and it's very accurate. I have 400 rounds to date of FMJ and a variety
of JHPs 124 gr, and 147 grs. It's replaced my MOdel 60 as the bedside
gun.
I saw some pics a few pages back wherre the magazine has a
base pad that flares forward slightly continuing the line of the front
grip strap. Are these available for my 75B? Ihave the stock mags
with the flat base plate that sticks out forward - pinched my 5th
finger on one mag insertion. I would reallly like to get the base pad
or buy mags with the pads on them
Question #2 - I put ANgus's web page on my fav. list
what is the optional hammer good for?
Also, I saw the spring kit option with ANgus but didn't see
a trigger job option - just contact and ask?
I'm off to a retirement party but will check back later tonight.

I forgot to add... I got it also because of the $300 Tax Stimulus and then
I got another $200 Tax Stim. from my Mom's estate as she did file in '07, so the CZ 75B was more or less a freebie.

My CZ 75 P-01 is incredibly accurate. I am a "noob" handgun shooter, yet the P-01 shoots very accurately for me, anyway. I purchased my P-01 a month or so ago, and have taken it to an intensive training session for about 8 hours, firing about 300 rounds through it. I haven't had a misfire, etc.
The only thing I will need to get used to is racking the slide, and locking the slide back. Other than that, my P-01 is just a joy to shoot, and is "more accurate than I am". The sights just seem to find the target on their own. I am very happy with the P-01, and I am considering a RAMI as a BUG.

I have never heard of an "optional hammer." I'm not saying it doesn't exist or its good or bad. I'm a intrigued though.
I have had trigger work done on all of CZ, and boy does that make a difference, especially since they are SA/DA.
Another tip to all new CZ gun owner (purchased a new gun) it takes a good 500 plus rounds to break the gun in. Happy shooting!

I didn't do the trigger jobs because it was gritty or I had any problems. They were indential to what you are describing, however the trigger jobs I had done help reduce the tension (amount of lbs.) needed to pull the trigger back. Plus it did end up making it smoother pull. I'm very happy with the trigger work. Not necessary, but well worth it.

Are you refering to the basepad on the far left of this picture? I'm not sure what CZ calls them, but they were originally for the 40-P. I think CZ is using the same ones for the SP-01 mags, and the baseplate should be available from the online store. The last time I checked, their online store was being reworked, so you may have to call them.
This will give you some idea of what it looks like in a gun (although I think the mag in this picture is out-of-spec, as the follower would not lock the slide back on empty. It looks like the mag catch wasn't positioned correctly. There will be a much smaller gap with an in-spec mag.

My P-01 was made 12/07 so its fairly new and the mags that came standard on mine were the ones in the extreme right (14rnds) in your pic (tapered pad)... My SP-01, has the extreme left pad...
Love that P-01... stiff trigger new but still breakin it in (about 300+rnds)... Very accurate shoot!!... and totally different than my 75B and SP-01... BUT LOVE 'EM ALL!

the comp hammer lightens the pull and makes the SA pull very crisp and short. i installed them on my CZs and will continue installing it on all future CZs i will buy. note that if you install it yourself, you will need to modify the sear because of the different geometry of the hammer. the sear will sit higher and the safety will be disabled until you modify the B model. for a decocker model, there are some extra steps, but i'm not a decocker guy. i like my cock.

Does anybody have a reference as to how to break a CZ 82 all of the way down so I can strip the old enamel coating from it?

try checking out the expanded diagram in the manual and reverse engineer it? that's what i had to do for my 40b...
