I don't own a CZ, but am considering one (CZ-82). Can anyone out there give me the pros & cons? I've not been much of a handgun owner (LLAMA .380, Kel-Tec P3AT)--my interests lie in the long-rifle area. But, it's about time to "broaden" my interests, and the CZ line looks very attractive.
For starters, have any of you fired hollow points through them? My LLAMA occasionally hang fires (i.e., the hollow point doesn't chamber) and the Kel-Tec is so atrocious in this regard that I've gone back to loading only ball ammo in it. Consequently, reliability WRT to chambering from the mag is a #1 priority for my next pistol.
try some research over at the czforums.com - they're essentially a decent pistol, but there are better choices if you're planning on carrying imo. after reading your posts though, it seems you're looking to possibly just shoot at the range... as a fun range gun, it's just another neat piece to add to the collection.
As of today, I'm in the P-01 club!! After wiping down the gun with paper towels to remove the copious amount of oil applied by the factory, I used my free range pass at the stores indoor range and ran through two mags (14 round) of FMJ. No problems at all!! Really love this gun already. Definitely allows me to shoot a tighter group than my RAMI, 9mm. My RAMI has been very good also.
hard to believe i thought only of home defense when i saw it back in march. then one day my '69 nova pissed me off really bad and i was having a tantrum over the pitman arm and center link and so i went inside and i saw the gun i bought the day before and i had a screwdriver in my hand anyways so i took that gun apart and before you know it the next day i watched some plinkers and saw a poster for uspsa and was there checking out the match the next day and BAM. cars made me broke, but from that day on - guns put me into debt.
gotta love it.
especially when i almost fell on my face during stage 3.
Burningsquirrel, don't give up on your car because of a gun. I put off getting my CZP-06 to get new coil overs on my ride (cost me $1200). I love guns and I love to drift. Sometimes it's hard to choose between the two, believe me I know. Last time it was a turbo upgrade and a nitrous kit for my intercooler. Oh well, that's the price I have to pay for being an adrenaline junkie.
Those were some awesome pics...I have the CZ97BD and it is the tits! I've also got that spiffy SP-01 ya got there. Don't have the CZB though, mine are old school CZ75s. After the CZP-06, I'm not sure which CZ to get. Got to catch up with GZoh (LOL)!
