Ordered an SP01 Tactical in .40SW. from Manofsteele and it arrived Friday at my FFL..picked it up Friday night and it is perfet
Not sure why I ordered it instead of a Shadow.. ???...but a .40 sounded interesting.
This is my first decocker gun...so I'll get a chance to tear one apart and do a trigger on it.
got some extra mags on the way too from Butcher so should be all set.
haven't had a chance to shoot it..but have had it apart..made some minor changes..cause that is what I always do ;D
anyway..added CZ rear/front sights, ext mag release, Steve Bedair SS FL guide rod, new springs, recut the hammer and sear..and figured why decockers are such a pain to work on. you need like three hands to get it back together..there are three springs and three parts in the ejector housing being held by the sear pin. what a pain

holy crap @ third hand. were you able to nicen up the trigger significantly?
the original two mags i made worked great, but the two hastily made last night with new contact lenses didn't fare as well - i made the followers too short and experienced a couple problems.
a famous glocksmith at the match gave me some ideas on how to make a 16th round fit though, i'll keep you posted.
good news is, my classifier sailed into B class! so im limited i have a 45% (didn't seat the mag and i had to tap rack) and today on CM 03-05 paper poppers i got A-C then A-A then missed the first steel, got the rest, came back, and got 6.82, good for juts a hair under 70%. i tried again for fun to see if i could do it without missing the steel, but ended up doing a lot worse, haha! i forgot to grab my fourth classifier for production. doh.

. Now that I'm over that, congrats on an awesome pistol 
I'm like you, I can't not take a new pistol apart and "improve" it. I know you know your stuff on CZ's, so I would be interested in how a trigger job on a decocker works out.
I'm up to 5 CZ's and trying not to get a 6th.

just thinking way out into left field.. but it IS steel... what if i closed up the decocker hole, and put in the parts from a regular manual safety in there? is the frame exactly the same except for that hole for the decocker?

wait a minute. the commander general could shoot production. i'll just swap the top ends. technically that could be legal for production class, since it's the same innards as the sp-01 9mm decocker.

Does the stock hammer have positive camming like the manual safety CZ's? How did you get the 7.5# DA pull, a 13# mainspring?

I'm interested in a trigger job as well.
I love my stock CZ75B, but I'll be the first to say that the trigger needs work. Mainly on travel.

no, not in the sense of shortening the amount of pull. the trigger job threads improve the pull by smoothening the trigger pull and lightening up the amount of force required, and cleaning up the single action break.
you can install an 85b combat trigger with the rearward facing screw to prevent excessive overtravel.
i highly recommend a 15# wolff mainspring, and cz competition hammer as the minimum. the rest is elbow grease.

the stock hammer does have that camming effect..I had to cut the hammer hook ( singular on a decocker ) and cut a secondary angle on the sear to get rid of most of it. there is still a little so the trigger is not quite as crisp as I want it..maybe tomorrow..I have a 15# spring in it right now..I stoned the trigger bar, the trigger, pull some tension off the trigger spring.
I'll be in there again..but not just right now.

I just took a break from studying O-chem and decided I needed to relax.... by completely taking appart my CZ75B and playing with a dremel-trigger job.
Yeah yeah, mad-man with a dremel. Guns beware.
I'll start off to say that the safety-detent and spring can really go places if you arn't careful.
The pin-spring-retaining-thing in the sear is a pain in the butt to get in again while reassembling.
The safety detent and spring thing were a bit feisty to be placed back in.
But all in all I lightened my trigger a bit, which makes me happy. I didn't take a lot off, afraid of negative consequence, but now that everything's back together I can see where I could take it down a bit more. But it's fine for now.
It was a good distraction from the synthesis problems I had been working on.
I didn't touch the trigger bars at all. That'll be for another day. I've got an IPSC competition tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes!

OK..back into the gun...
got the disassembly down..still a pain..but a little easier..the biggest pain and my fear, is that all the springs, sear, decock and FPB all go flying...
anyway..recut the hammer..and had to recontour the disconnector..but it is now 4# crisp..so i am happy with that..I pulled some pressure off the sear spring and tweaked the trigger spring some more..so the DA stroke..while still at 7.5#-8#..it is a lot smoother feeling..
so I feel pretty happy about this all now..

not yet...
its not too bad now that I got a order..
what I have avoided so far is disassembly of ejector housing and pulling out everything..but you can do just about everything without doing that..i can recut the secondary angle on the sear, polish the arm of the FPB lever and recut it to shorten the reset without taking anything out.
