my recently acquired CZ-82. is there a better gun deal out there than one of these as milsurp for under $200?

the EGW sear is made for the tanfoglio gun..it's slightly different and needs a little fitting to mate up right..
it the CZ sears are only $9..I'd get a bunch of 85C and "B" sears for your box.

well for $9, if my options are open, what's different with the 85 combat sears over the regular 75B sear?

i will probably call cz-usa today and order it.

its wider and goes the full length of the inside of the ejector housing..where the 75B sear needs the FPB lever or a spacer to take up the space.

Hi everyone, I'm a new member of the club!

Bought a CZ-75B with the Omega trigger last week, and I'll be picking it up this weekend. Can't wait to shoot it, given all I've heard about these guns!

Does anyone have any tips or links on care and maintenance? I've got a 1911 that I'm familiar with, but this is my first CZ.

nutter,

Welcome to the club, I am sure you will find it interesting.
As BS says, we are all waiting for photos and a range report.

I like to take the city folk from the more liberal parts of the country out shooting. I get a real kick out of watching grown men who have never nor would ever hold a gun suddenly discover they have testosterone...I had some guys from Seattle down a while back and they had so much fun at least one of them is now a closet gun owner. Just trying to do my part.

I live in a suburb of the emasculated city of Seattle, so I must say that I found this statement very amusing. :) Good work bringing new folks into the club.

I'm looking into getting my first CZ (which will also be my first semi-auto). Ive been learning all I can about various action types and renting guns for the last 3 saturdays.

My question is this... What is the benefit to the 75b SA (single action) model?

My understanding is that you have to cock the hammer to for the first round (like a 1911). Is the trigger any different than a DA/SA after the first round has been fired? No store has one to rent, but Ive read on forums they are more accurate than the regular 75B.

Also, whats the consensus on the new Omega trigger?

Better trigger on the CZ SA.

Not sure about the Omega trigger. Havn't tried one. However the biggest downside to the new pistol is that it doesn't use standard CZ75 mags.

On a side-note, I just ordered two Witness .45 mags for my CZ97 and two of the new 17 round mags for my CZ75.

Deer Hunter,

You wrote; "However the biggest downside to the new pistol is that it doesn't use standard CZ75 mags."

Is this in context to the cZ 75 Omega or to the P07?

Omega trigger in DA is pretty much the same as a std 75B. the single action is better and that is because it uses the SP01 Shadow hammer which has short hooks and are cut square.

the biggest difference in the Omega and a 75B is the number of parts in the gun.

Local shop is getting three or four in this week..was thinking of buying to tear it apart.

Omega uses the same mags as a std 75B

LOL...yeah..I get sucked into these things..kind of like when I was curious about decocker guns and bought one just to tear apart and do a trigger..

likely see this one up for sale with some improvements :D

ahh..... sometimes i rue the day i discovered my CZ disassembles with hand tools and is far simpler than the small block engines i was building at the time. oh, to have a hobby sitting in a comfy chair under climate control instead of bench pressing a muncie into place on my back in a pool of trans fluid. :) i still got some really red ATF stained shirts and pants and boxers, too :D

wait, is this omega trigger on the CZ-75 the same one that's on the P-07? A big deal with the P-07 is that you can change the gun from a safety to a decocker, can you do that with the CZ-75 omega trigger?

correct me if I'm wrong...

The Omega triggers are the same on both guns.

However, the CZ-75s shipping with the Omega trigger were ordered by a "third world country" and the order fell through. They have the holes necessary for a decocker, but are being sold with a safety and without the parts for the decocker.

Is that right?

went down to one of the local gun shops..they had just got in 3 of the 75B Omega guns. They let me pick through the three to find the best one.

I had played with one in another local shop and was not really impressed with the trigger. after seeing these three..I am not impressed with the triggers at all.

The DA on all four guns that I have seen, the DA stroke was very very heavy..with a bit of grittiness..the SA wasn't bad ONCE you got past the FPB lifter moving the block.

the single action is not bad once that happens..it probably breaks about 2.5#. The Shadow hammer I would guess is the reason for this. short hooks, no camming.
that DA stroke needs a lot of love. a lot of love.

The frame is different..beyond the obvious beavertail and mag release.
in front of the grips there is a large flat. the 75B is rounded right there and the SP01 is only about half that distance..so not sure why or how it measures.

The main avantage of this trigger is the gun uses less parts. there are fewer pins, safety detent, no ejector housing, etc.
the trigger pin is different..by eye it looks like a solid pin of a larger diameter..but again..I did not measure it.

slide frame fit is good, slide is a 75B slide with the Omega symbol

so I think the features of this gun is fewer parts and convertible to decocker with the right parts.

anyway..just one opinion..and I am still thinking about picking one up
