Does it have a half-cock in DA mode?

That would probably work best for me.

cz p-01 here... maybe a 75b or 97b in the future as far as pistols... i'd like the HET in .338 lapua as far as rifles go, but that will probably be a long ways down the road...

Doug, it's a rossi cyclops (988) .357. it's more of a top of the line (as far as rossi goes) competition version of another one of their models i believe. it has the old style hammer mounted firing pin. it feels pretty well balanced, and the trigger feels pretty good for a straight out of the box gun. also, it's ported if you didn't pay it much attention (so good or bad depending on preference) and has a 6" barrel. if you ever come across one for $400 or less, i would suggest considering it. i also think they look great compared to most double action revolvers, as i prefer the look of a single action. slightly closer shot of it. it's not mine though, my father-in-law just sold it to a friend of mine, and i transported it so figured i'd take a couple shots, lol.

there's a thread over in the cz camp some of you may be interested in. apparantly there are differences between specific guns and not necessarily different by year. a guy asked about removing the rear sight and some of the guys said all he had to do was tap it out. some others and myself commented on how there was an allen head in the front of the sight. one guy posted a pic of his without the allen head, and i posted a pic of mine with. something else i saw was the hole in his above the extractor is noticeably further down than mine. has anyone in here noticed any other differences in theirs compared to someone else?

I want to join the CZ club. Can I, please, please!!! I got mine in Feb. of 09, a CZ SP-01 and after I worked out the gritty trigger I would have to say that it will be the last handgun that I would be willing to part with.

I'm now considering some CZ long guns. I thought Ruger and Browning were some of the best (price/quality) choices in .22 and .223 (non-assault style) OTB guns on the market but I'm now considering a few of the CZ 527 and CZ 550 toys. I would like to see some CZ long guns in semi-auto though.

I just can't figure out why the demand for CZ's is not a lot greater. I guess it's because the CZ-USA marketing team has yet to make it a household name. Anyway, that's great for those of us who know about CZ because it lets us get weapons with SIG, Glock, STI and Ed Brown quality guns for a price lower than them.

CZ rifles are great. All steel and none of those MIM or aluminum bits. I don't have much use for the set trigger, but that is easily fixed. The 527 is a great little carbine - light and easy to carry. I've killed a few deer with mine in both 7.62x39 and 6.5 Grendel. Unfortunately the price on these guns has gone up and they aren't the steal they used to be.

So I have been reading about CZ guns in the forums as well as this thread for a few months now......

Well today I shot a 75B at my range (a rental gun) along with 5 other 9mm guns.

All I can say is WOW...now Ii know what you all mean!

Fits PERFECT in my hand...like a glove and accurate beyond words.

It puts to shame my XDm 9mm.

I was down to the Ruger SR9 untill I shot the CZ......no contest and the Ruger IS a nice gun.

That's the most common CZ experience, but you won't convince the XD crowd.

Now you just have to find the model you want.
I feature most of them at my CZ-ZONE.

I took my favorite 9mm, a CZ SPO1, to the range just yesterday. I wanted to see if it had any problems with my new weaponlight. No malfunctions, but I foolishly tried to keep my light's lense clean by putting scotch tape over it. Obviously this was the first time I've tried this method and will not make the same mistake again. I prefer cleaning gunpowder residue than cleaning melted plastic and gunpowder residue. Still, I had a great time with the gun as usual...just wish it held more than 18 rounds!

49 pages and still more posts, I joined the ranks of CZ pistol owners on August 15th 2009. I was "just looking" although I was in the market for a PCR or the P01. At Bud's in Paris, KY I found the PCR, traded off a S&W model 59 and very little cash, got rid of a safe queen for a daily carry weapon.

some years back I owned a CZ 83 in .380acp (IIRC they could be had in .32acp also), good gun. sort of regret selling it but only did so to buy a BDA .380acp I found a great buy on. the BDA doesn't shoot any tighter groups than the CZ but it does it slicker and looks better too.

WOW--my computer crashed about 1 1/2 weeks ago and I come back to 49 pages of the new CZ club--very impressive
I love my CZ's
75 P01
75 compact
75 BD
Plan on getting a P07,a 97 BD and a Rami as funds will allow.
I have more than a few handguns and my CZ's are the most accurate of the bunch.
The P01 is about as close to perfect that a handgun can be IMO

Picked up a NIB CZ-75B for $500 just about a week ago and took it to the range last weekend (and will be taking it with me again this weekend). Great gun.

Here's a CZ I finished a while back. Competition hammer, CZ tactical rear sight and fo front sight, full trigger job, polished/smoothed trigger bar/firing pin safety, channel and lifter/cocking rail/disconnector rail/ejector housing/hammer strut, 15lb mainspring, CZ85 combat trigger, etc. Probably the easiest to shoot gun I've ever used. However, I'm probably going to get rid of it and my other CZ's and standardize on 9mm Glocks.

My first 9mm (in fact, my first autoloading pistol): A pre-B CZ75 that I sent to Angus Hobdell's shop for the works: Competition hammer, new sights, trigger job, new grips. Love it.

Hawthorne2k, that's an interesting "original" CZ-75 as it has the new style slide release. I also note that the dust cover recess cut is like the 75B and the trigger isn't tapered like the earlier pistols. Does it have any other 75B features such as the firing pin block? I wonder if there were transition CZ-75's that combined features of the original with those of the as yet unreleased 75B? What style was the original hammer on your pistol.... spur or rowel? While your picture isn't clear, the slide markings seem to be slightly different too.

I did a comparison of my 1981 original with a new 2009 75B that you can use to note the differences between yours and the earlier originals. The thread is here: http://www.czforumsite.info/index.php?topic=25803.0

Please look yours over and tell us about the differences. It should be interesting.
