Yes, VZ grips. Love them

I have CZ Customs on my Compact but I have VZs on my 1911 and love those.
My hands get so sweaty in summer that I couldn't keep a good grip till I got the VZs.

Just picked her up today. extra mags showing up Wednesday and 1000 rounds showing up Thursday. So excited to get to the range this week sometime.

....ah a Phantom  ....I'm in just the opposite boat, my mags and ammo arrived yesterday and according to tracking my Phantom was just delivered to my FFL which means I can pick it up tomorrow.

Got to play around with one of my Christmas presents a little early....

Some nice new half checker wood grips. They feel great, they're thinner, but still have a bit of palm swell so they're still comfy. Sorry for the cellphone pic, they have to go back in their box now until Christmas day :(
Are you for real?

thanks armoredman... i cant wait to shoot it.. its my first handgun (i have a few shotguns and a 30.06) and i have only shot a handgun once before (40 s&w Glock). in the last 2 nights since i got it, i've already spent more $$ on ammo and gear for it than the actual gun cost. who knew shooting was as expensive as hunting?!

Okay...I'm totally in :D

The Phantom is something else....what a gun! :D I was worried about the trigger, but the damn thing is good, especially once it gets running in SA.
Ergonomics are fantastic, the pistol is very comfortable and amazingly controllable. I love the low bore axis, I was on target from the first shot.
I'm going to add that it is built like a tank, everything is just beefy and tight, I have no worry about this pistol's reliability or durability.
I bought these together, the LC9 is a good runner also, its got a Galloway hammer which improves the trigger in all areas. The LC9 in going on EDC duty.

Added a new member to the family today! Got the Soviet Commemorative 75B at the LGS. I'm super excited, as I've researched this pistol, knowing it's rare but not necessarily uber valuable, but I love all things eastern bloc. It goes nicely with my 7.62 Saiga AK, as ironic as that may seem. I'll post pics soon.

Thank you. I'll get a pic up tomorrow night. Not sure if you guys have seen them, but I think the red stars, hammer and scicle, and, Russian text look super sexy. It's my new fave.

Go get a Makarov :) Serial numbers of this one are very-very special, if you like our language :) Yes, yes. Iˇm an Estonian citizen, but Iˇm born Russian, and russian language is my parents native language. My home one is also russian, as you may guess if you know that my wife is a Russian Federation citizen.

By the way, this weekend I shot a local competition (not the IPSC one, just local gun freaks came together with theirs beloved pistols :). There were not so many shooters, about 20 guys only. And there were no woman-shooters at all. :( Just some wifes who watched the competition.
My CZ-110 won the second prize. The first one is won by Makarov pistol shooter (who is a policeman, in fact). I was very pleased to know that our local policeman shoots so accurate.
And Iˇm very proud of my 13 yo son, who also shot this competition (and this one was his second try of shooting the pistol). He shot better that some full-grow men, who own pistol for years :)
But he shot my second pistol. Glock :D

Glock17, had a Mak as well as a CZ82. The 9x18 Makarov is a stout cartridge and I feel it a good choice for concealed carry for those who are recoil sensitive. I've not been to Estonia, but it sounds groovy!

Riding the wave of the last few Phantom posts..... Here's another...

Picked it up on Monday and queezed in a short range session in this afternoon as the rain was letting up. Accuracy did not disappoint.

Liable to draw some heat here from Armoredman and Walt Sherrill. Guys...I really enjoy your posts, and always enjoy your opinions, and am really asking for your input here.

What is the real difference in the true (well metal frame, I know) CZ-75 and the Tanfoglio Force pistols? I look at pictures, they look the same. I fired my buddies CZ, feels pretty much, the same. I hear, read, that the Tanfoglio models actually made some improvements over the original CZ-75 design.

My Tanfoglio DA still seems kinda heavy. Is it ok to dry fire this pistol without snapcaps, in order to smooth out the DA?

Guys, I really appreciate your info. I know this (have read anyway) that this trigger is supposedly one of the best out of the box. However it really does not, IMO, compare to the trigger on my Sig 2340. To be honest, not any better than my Yavuz 16.

Will continued rounds run thru the Tanfoglio smooth out the DA? It is not bad...Just not what I have read it should be.

Thanks guys

Gunner

Hey guys, I was looking into buying my first handgun and am trying to decide between one of the CZ 75 variants (probably the B model) and an XD9. I have shot the XD, and loved it, but I have not been able to find a range near me (Charlotte, NC) that rents the CZs. Any advice? I really don't want to buy a gun I haven't gotten to shoot, but I really like what I've read about the CZ, and want to give it it's fair shake.

XD9 sights outta the box are a bit large. Also, it is DAO, polymer, and light. The two are very different, so what is your intendd use?

The CZ is an accurate pistol, and it's feel in hand is like none other
The xd is comfy, but I find the grip angle funky. Plus, they have that 1911ish grip safety...dumb.
Both are HD sound.

Also, I would inquire on here about Springfields customer service. Even though you may never use it, it's nice to know who will treat you best if and when you may need it. Other than that, they are an apple and an orange.

I like oranges, get a CZ.
