I have a brand new CZ 455FS in .22LR, and it's a sweet shooting rifle. I already have a tack driving .22LR bolt action scoped Marlin, so I opted to put a Williams Receiver sight on the CZ instead of a scope. It really makes it a sweet little rifle. The aperture sight is ideal on the full stock model, since it has the European style stock which is made for iron sights. I got a 455FS with extra fancy walnut and it's a beautiful rifle; a real shooter and a keeper. I also have the option of ordering a drop in replacement factory barrel in .22 Magnum or .17HMR for the CZ455. You ought to give the CZ rimfires a look. They are superbly made rifles. So are the center fires.

I've got a CZ455 American too, didn't mention it along with my PCR since this is a handgun forum, but it is part of my tiny CZ collection so... I put a Mueller 4.5-14x40 scope on it. One of my favorite range toys.

I had a couple Pre Bs years ago and always wished I'd hung on to at least one of them. Never could really warm up to the newer models with the squared off trigger gaurd, round hammer, etc. I was recently in a large gun shop and came upon the "Retro" model. Didn't know such an animal existed, round trigger guard, spur hammer, etc, but with the B internals. Close enough, bought it. Have a few hundred rounds of several types of ammo through it now. Just like my old Pre B guns, Totally reliable, no malfunctions at all....

picked up the CZ TS last week, here she is pictured next to my Kadet Pistol .22lr. at first runnin my shadow grips on my Kadet then swaped out and modified to fit the TS, TS wood grips on the kadet now.

It's the P-07 with the longer "Canadian compliant" barrel and night sights, . . . pricing of $479, new.

Opinions? Any concerns?

As have I, . . . . I have a P-09. But I was more interested in any possible issues with the longer barrel [Canadian compliant] model. Probably not, just wanting to cover all my bases.

One thing interesting about it. The Omega trigger of my P-09 [on single action] doesn't feel as good as the trigger on the P-07 [on single action] that I have in layaway. Double action is . . . about the same.

Orion purchased mine late last year through cz custom shop and seems they don't carry them anymore. Was lookin at the p09, but I wanted a longer barrel on the standard p07 frame. Has a great sa trigger from a factory duty pistol, tritium sights is cool. At the range mine was shooting slightly to the left similar groupings as factory target I got. Had one of the first p07 when hit the market, then sold a while back. Then picked up this unique version, very happy with the purchase.

ifit, . . . I was doing a bit of research and someone else mentioned that this version is a bit "rare", . . . for whatever that may mean, . . . but it may be fortunate that I was able to snag it while I had the chance.

BTW, . . . is the $479 [new] a good price for it?

Hopefully, the P-07 that I have on order isn't one that experienced the "frame bulging" issue. But then, some say that even new ones will "bulge". Not that it is very noticeable.

Does anyone know where I can order a decocker for the P-07? Mine didn't come with one and I hate safeties. I thought I would get used to it but I was wrong.

I don't know if you can just swap a safety for a decocker. It has a different sear. Maybe they changed the design for the P-07?

The "frame bulge" on the P-07 was nothing but a cosmetic thing, never any issue whatsoever. The newer ones addressed that with a different mix in the polymer, and to the best of my knowledge, the "bulge" has been erased. I saw one in my P-07, never caused any issues whatsoever.

The P-09 has no bulge, either.

Orion, according to czusa site, some czusa dealers special order p07s that are not listed on the cz USA site, in this case our p07/extended barrel/tritium sights/safety lever only version.

Armoredman thanks....wished they offered a 9mm version though, bump firing the scorpion is a blast

If you guys won't mind it, I have a question for you regarding the SP 01 springs, slide stop and hammer.

I read that there are various recoil springs with different weights available for this pistol. I'd like to know what the stock recoil spring is. What effect has a lighter, or heavier, recoil spring on the gun?. I guess there will be some difference in perceived recoil. My shooting buddy has a stock one and we're shooting my reloads (125 grains @ 1060 fps) without problem.

As for the slide stops, a guy at my shooting club broke one. Is it a common failure?. I read something about trigger springs needing replacement every once in a while.

Then the hammer thing. Looks like there is a replacement for it. Apparently it's called "USA hammer" over there and it's one of the mods the SP01 Shadow Mamba brings along, but as far as I know, the same hammer is available in Europe under a different name (which I'm afraid I can't recall ). What difference does this hammer make so as to make it worthwhile?.
