the new Taurus Curve

We will have to see how Taurus handles the execution on this and yes I'm sure a left handed model is already finished

Someone on another site said he's going to take one to the range and tell people Taurus made a bunch of them before they realized the gun had that bend in it.

Whoa. I think that's what guns look like after a few drinks. They should have named it, "Taurus Wasted."

Actually, I really have to hand it to them. Taurus, yet again, shows that even though they don't always hit the mark, they are probably the most innovative firearms firm today. They have no problem rolling out some totally unconventional designs to see if they work. And sometimes (Judge anyone?) their unconventional design is a major hit.

Actually the bend is a heck of a good idea...

**assuming it actually works good..

A gun that carries in a pocket without tilting, without printing, and without need of a holster? Nice.

The curve, I don't mind. For some reason, I wouldn't want my only handgun in the world to be so asymmetrical. But since every other handgun in the world is symmetrical and I already own over a dozen of them, this doesn't bother me.

Even if I was wrong-handed, I would still buy one, provided the cost is around $450-ish or less. I am not exactly ambidextrous, but I am not too far from it. I would need to practice a little more on the draw/presentation, but at least I wouldn't have to move my wallet. :)

When I first saw a picture of it, I glanced at the calendar to make sure I hadn't dozed off and it was April 1, 2015.

Then, I could see it makes a kind of sense for CCW. I believe I'd wait until a couple of thousand of them were out and being shot / carried before I jumped on one.

On second thought, it's still a Taurus. And that means hit and miss QC. I had one revolver that worked out very well, but friends of mine have had other Taurus guns that didn't.

You pays your money, and you takes your changes....

I guess I'll go back to all the threads about how no manufacturer is making innovative and just new ar15s..........

I like it and if it's reliable would call it an improvement in terms of bringing firearms designs up to the current standard of the times we live in.

Tuarus is paying attention to the benefits of designs that due to modern technology and materials can now be produced on an economical scale.

I can tell you one thing the anti gunners are really going to hate this thing.

A very low priced concealable light weight semi auto in a potent enough caliber that can used effectively by anyone who is able to point a laser on a target and squeeze a trigger.

I actually, for a moment, thought they had made a gun chambered in .380 with laser, light AND a taser. :what:

But, as it is, it's STILL pretty darn intriguing.

Well two guys I showed pictures to, both want one. I am going to wait and see how it pans out, but am intrigued by the laser light combo, just not the caliber. But with advances in ammo, I could be convinced if it fed well and the laser/light was fast and reliable to operate. They should have put a contact sensor on it so you just pass your finger on it and it goes on, then tap it to shut off either one and tap again for off, because having a 3 position switch on it is going to be a distraction unless they did a Veridian type deal where it came out the way you set it right from the holster. Like laser on, and tap for light, once more for off, guess we will see

Problem is that it's ultra plain and is ugly.

Uh, what? Ugly I can see, but how is that plain, let alone ultra plain? Literally never seen a gun like it before and it is a one of a kind!

With that said, I have a bodyguard and I like it just fine. No reason to change or even seriously consider this one personally, though maybe it would be just the ticket for someone in the market for a .380.

I see the point, and to some people it is interesting. I think it is hideous though. I'll pass.

It looks like an Intratec Cat9 did unspeakable things with a Smith & Wesson Sigma .380, and their spawn came out with a serious birth defect.

It doesn't look much like a gun.
Will that earn it an ATF classification of AOW, like the gun wallets that disguised a small handgun to not look like a handgun?

I give them credit for innovation. Until I know more about it, I'll reserve final judgment.
For now, my Kel Tec P3AT still works.

The gun comes with a spare magazine and a trigger guard clip. This provides an extra layer of protection when wearing the Curve by eliminating the possibility of something pushing through your clothes and pulling the trigger. The clip is tied to a belt or belt loop and will automatically get yanked off the gun if it ever needs to be drawn.

I'm glad to see this. I was concerned they were going to be marketing a gun to new shooters that encourages wearing it holsterless. The trigger guard clip is a good idea, I know there is a company that already makes these and that is what I thought of when I first saw this, so it is nice that they include one in the package.

Haven't watched any videos yet, but I'm curious how effective the light is. LED's can be very bright if built well and focused correctly, or they can be like those cheesy key fobs for finding the keyhole at night, which imo would be useless for a gun.

ditto the sentiment about taurus pushing things and being innovative, not my sort of pistol but im sure theyll sell a bunch, id warm to taurus more if two of my closest shooting buddies werent sitting on broken/problem taurus guns right now… wish they could get their QC under control.
Still this pistol is an attention getter

Not really worried about printing - I figure my haircut and my shoes pretty much give me away to anyone that's looking.

With the "curve" in the grip I think if they come out with a left handed version they would have to make different magazines for left handed or right handed models in order for them to be curved properly.

My initial reaction was that it was ugly. Now I am kinda interested.
