The One Huge Advantage of Position SUL

Even guys like Tim Burke who always post an AAR, didn't have much to say. Was that a reaction to the events and scenarios of that particular year?
No, it was much simpler than that. I did not attend the 2005 NTI. I did attend the 2006 NTI, but I got sidetracked working on the AAR, so it still hasn't been posted, either.
I'm also going to miss the NTI this year, but I'd love to see anyone else's AAR.

Then why didn't he cover the threat.

I admit sul has it's place, but if there was a threat within range, the muzzle is better off covering the threat than the floor. So again, either no threat was present or this was a misuse of time and space in a fight.

None of the comments here have stated that the ready position was the determining factor in not getting our guy holed. "He didn't seem to be part of the problem" and "He didn't look like a bad guy" came up. Overall behavior conveys these things, not the manner in which we grip our pistols. My objection is not to the use of a technique or position, but the conjecture that this is what kept a legally armed person "alive" when the scenario played out. Opening statements of this thread conveyed the tone of "Do this, you won't get whacked by friendlies". That's not true.
