The Return of TFL - The High Road's Future?

I was a long time member of GT before I discovered TFL. I continued posting and reading at both. When TFL went south, I quickly found out about here and now, this is the first site I go to after checking my email. I don't see me changing my habits anytime soon, just adding another to the list..... :D

This is a tough one, TFL was such a great forum but Oleg is the one that saved us from being homeless. I suspect I will spend more time on THR.
 
I'm excited about having both forums available. I was only at TFL for about 6 months, and mostly lurked, then I got shipped off to England for a bit. Came back to find TFL down and THR in it's place.

Will be interesting to see how TFL 2 compares to the original and THR.
 
I registered at TFL 12-03-02, I barely had time to get to know anything there before THR became my home.

I think TFL will be visited with the same frequency as GT, 1911forums, and other places. I spend way to much time reading here to spend the same amount of time on all of them.

Nice that it is back... so when we try another vb version upgrade here, we have somewhere to hang!

I think I'll just stay here - Oleg did us a HUGE favor by firing this thing up. I also can't see going somewhere else to read the same stuff we'll be reading here.

I found a Kiefer but not a Keifer @ TFL. The ISPs don't match but if you wanna change your name here at THR it can be done. Lemme know (and send a six pack of Shiner to the staph lounge ;) ) and you can be Keifer or Kiefer here.
 
This is my favorite forum on the web, but I liked TFL also. Heck, I've got lotsa time while sitting next to this laser engraver. I'm sure I'll visit both.

Anybody know if I can change my name on TFL (TrophyShop) to my current name here?

And just in case I haven't expressed my appreciation to Oleg for firing up THR while we were homeless...and the mods for not clobbering my sometimes over the top posts.... thanks.

TFL was my first introduction to the basis of firearm safety. I read posts for hours at a time learning about the basic rules, NDs the 9mm vs. 45ACP debate and so forth. It was the basis of my firearms knowledge and that I'm grateful for.

To make a long story short. TFL closing is like the momma bird sending her birds off to new adventures. Though the place that we grew up will always be a nice place to visit! You'll see me around on both forums. Though since I changed my name on THR I'll just have to start off as a rookie again on TFL.

I still have a account at TFL and consider TFL a GREAT source of firearms related information. THR, however, is WAY superior with regard to ease of reading (forum layout, screen colors, etc.), and has extremely valuable resources and information also.

I, for one, heartily agree with Oleg's new rule for posting in L&P, and know that it will make this a more polite forum overall (not that it isn't already). I allowed myself to get sucked into the non-firearms related political discourse-who needs it? If you want to debate with a bunch of elitists, there is always the straightdope message board. I was long ago banned from there for agitating the leftists with too much logic.
 
Name game

I used to own a 1979 Chevy Nova. Great car, and the last year they made that marque.
Well, after about five years, Chevrolet comes out with a new Nova. Not only doesn't it look like the old Nova, it's a Toyota-looking hatchback!! But Hey! it's a Nova.

I spend a lot of quality time at THR. Now a commercial entity is restarting TFL.

Tell you what, if after six months the "original" TFL members aren't complaining too much, maybe I'll check it out.

I just hope the new TFL doesn't turn out to be a 2-door hatchback.

How many of us own just one gun? Just one caliber?

I just hope you all will forgive me if I occasionally post the same stupid question on both boards.
 
I was a member of TFL until it closed!

I was disturbed by its closure but soon found THR. The overal tenor of THR is IMHO much better than was TFL. Not only is THR excellent from a knowledge point of view it is also more civil, urbane, and helpful. Mr. Volk has insisted on that and, because of that, THR will retain my loyalty. Good shooting;)
 
I'll spend the bulk of my time wherever the debate is most current and agressive. I repsect THR but it's always been a bit tame for me(see post above), which is why my post count here is the lowest per day of any forum I haunt.
 
Ill definitly be lurking over there, and probally be posting over here. Or maybe posting on both, Ill just have to see how the relaunch turns out :).
