Who'd have thought in 1981 that Soviet made Mosin Nagant rifles would be selling at Big 5 one day? Who'd have thought in 1982 that AK mags for all the Warsaw Pact nations would be selling for the price of a fast food value meal each mag? Who'd have thought in 1980 that Rusian-made ammo would make the 7.62x39 almost as cheap to shoot as a .22 rimfire? Who knew in 1979 that the Russians still had all those K98 Mausers they captured in WW2?
Wow, we're living in great days for collectors of Cold War memorablia. And, best of all, we can shoot it! You can get Mosins for $80. A case of 880 rounds of Warsaw Pact issue 7.62x54 for $85. That's a lot of shooting for $165! AK mags all over the place. High cap mag ban? Where? Nearly all of the 7.62x39 AK mags were made prior to 1994, heehee! And they probably made a few hundred million, too. Now that they don't have capitalists to make ammo to use against, they have capitalists to sell ammo to. Entire military ammo plants in Russia churn out lots of bang for the buck every day.
There is a yard sale going on! Captured Mausers, Mosins, AK mags and parts, ammo, gear, tools...you name it, they're probably selling it! And now that the Evil Empire is gone, NATO is breathing easy enough to part with whole stockpiles of 7.62x51 and 5.56 ammo. Who'd have thought it in 1983? G3s and FALs are coming in as Frankenguns, but shooters nonetheless. (Boy, just imagine what we'd be seeing if not for those !@#$$%^^ "assault" weapon bans! :banghead: ) Can you picture that? FALs and G3s practically in issue condition. Soviet made AK-74s and AKMs practically in issue condition. You can almost smell the cosmoline! As much as the pantywastes have tried to take the guns out of U.S. shooters' hands, we're in great days for shooters nonetheless!
