I plan on switching my M44's Leupold 2.5x28mm scout scope over to a 30-30 Marlin 336 via an XS mount at some point in about a year. However I think the Ultimate brush gun would be an AR-15 in 6.8 SPC. With a 16 barrel, Aimpoint M2/3/4 and a 3x magnifier on a flip mount, this rifle would be the Ultimate Brush Gun! Some day when I'm not poor I may set one up for deer season. Sure its a "tactical" rifle. But every advancement in hunting technology has been in the form of military technology. It's only tactical in a military application. In the woods its a high tech hunting arm.
