Think you can shoot 1" at 600 yards?

I like this stuff because it provides a point of reference (sanity check) as to what's possible with the best equipment, loads and conditions. It's kind of the pure science of the shooting sports.

Again, the answer is no.

My best groups with handloads (batching bullets by weight, primer pocket and flashhole uniformed, etc.) are about 0.35 MOA under comfortable favorable conditions and no wind.

I'll bet they were down to counting the individual powder grains when loading their competition rounds.

That kind of shooting is mind-boggling to me, even with the equipment they are using and having perfect weather conditions, plus their practiced skill.

A one-inch group at 600 yards is 0.173 MOA . HO-leee.......

I don't know what size group I was shooting but in 1966 it was good enough to get me the expert badge and air fare to south east Asia. They popped up I knocked them down,M-14,out to 700 yards.

I'm not capable of 1" at 600 yards, and I'm sure I don't own a rifle capable of it, either. I have to say, I do a lot of driving to reach a 200 yard range around here. I'd say it must be nice, but it wouldn't do me any good anyway! That's seriously good shooting, however they do it.
