My answer above may not have been 100% accurate. I assumed 7.62x39s did not require a bullet guide to use normal AK magazines. I know my .223 rifle does require one.
You may want to check up on the build that you are considering at

Thanks for the compliment. This is my primary, all-purpose rifle. It is a sweet, sweet rifle. I smoothed the hook and trigger contacts out in the fire control group, and the trigger pull is smooth as glass now. It is 100% reliable, shoots less than 3 MOA usually, is light, and you can co-witness irons with the Aimpoint CompC3 that I installed. It's a helluva rifle. I love mine to death.
One word of caution, they can get expensive when you are done with them. I got my Tromix conversion (welded folding stock, excellent rivet work, US compliance parts) for about $750. I then added an Ultimak rail, Ace Galil pistol grip, Bulgarian lower handguard, Dinzag handguard retainer plate, Aimpoint CompC3 2 MOA red dot scope, and Blue Force Gear - Vickers sling. That took a $260 rifle up to $1500 total, but it's an amazing rifle now.
