If I could get my hands on some small pistol primers, I'd happily keep shooting the .357. Unfortunately, I haven't scored any for years now.
As it stands, I am contemplating just consolidating to .45 Colt and .45 ACP with large pistol primer brass.
No way will I let mine go, I looked too long and hard to find them. They all go to the range, and they all have their own personalities. I don't shoot a lot of full power loads in them any more, I load my magnum cases to about 1200 fps and shoot quite a few .38 Spl +P loads, too. I carry my M66-1 a fair amount, it's so easy to conceal. Two K frames and two N frames:I am thinking about completely ditching the 357 magnum revolvers I own.
Has anyone else abandoned the 357 Magnum?
Apparently we have the same carbine... great for kids and small framed shooters.I considered getting out of the .357 business
also. But I have at least four good reasons to stay.

Small RPs work just fine for .357 loads. Start low and work up...If I could get my hands on some small pistol primers, I'd happily keep shooting the .357. Unfortunately, I haven't scored any for years now.
Okay, but they'll go cheap. Nobody wants obsolete hardware that's too heavy, too loud, under-powered and awkward to carry. Couple hundred bucks each, at most, depending on your local market.I am thinking about completely ditching the 357 magnum revolvers I own
Well, as for me, I shoot the .357 Magnum jus for the pleasure of shooting a variety of revolvers. Here are my Single Action .357s, with the exception of the Hy Hunter shown as I've let it go to a collector:

But I enjoy a variety of guns in various calibers.

Im shooting an L frame. A 686+ and I haven't found a lead bullet load that it likes. If I am gonna have to shoot 38 level loads in it I don't see the point in not just using a 38 spl.
The other thought I have had is buying an N frame 357 (627) to try.
Is that how you normally harvest eggplant?I considered getting out of the .357 business

<Crocodile Hunter accent> “ They’re sure a wiley adversary, those wild squash are!”Is that how you normally harvest eggplant?
They're berries, actually. A fruit in the nightshade family, like the tomato and chili pepper. Tomatoes are fruit and so are eggplant. The skin and seeds can be eaten like a tomato or chili but, like the potato, they're better cooked.<Crocodile Hunter accent> “ They’re sure a wiley adversary, those wild squash are!”
Well, he is the Armored Farmer .
Stay safe.
Maybe I should start taking something to the garden with me. No telling when I may be challenged by a green bean or hot pepper. Making such an example of one of them will keep the rest of the vegetables in line.<Crocodile Hunter accent> “ They’re sure a wiley adversary, those wild squash are!”

They made a movie about it, "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes."Maybe I should start taking something to the garden with me. No telling when I may be challenged by a green bean or hot pepper. Making such an example of one of them will keep the rest of the vegetables in line.
