I had one for several years, just trading it away this summer.
It was a good gun for the most part. I had a chipped extractor way back, when it was new, and I shot it a LOT, but it still worked. Ejection was erratic, but it worked. I replaced it, and never had it happen again.
I had a Glock 20, that I got around the same time. The 29 always shot better. I don't remember much, if any, more recoil from the 29.
The 29's grip fit my hand a lot better, so that's probably the reason for all of that.
