I feel the need to buy a firearm with my official move from NJ to PA on Friday. I've got some great things in .32, 9mm, .45 and .357 Mag. Would a 10mm add to the fun or be redundant?

"Thoughts on Glock 29?"

Love mine ...

10+1 10mm firepower in a very portable and concealable package. Controllable and very accurate. (Same size as its .45acp cousin, the G30). :)

I suggest getting the G20. You get more bang (power) for your buck over the short barreled G29. I have both pistols. The G29 is fun but if you really want 10mm power you should have a longer barrel.

I wish Glock would come out with a Practical/Tactical G21/G20. The G34 and G35 have nice 5+" barrels.

You can get a Glock 6" barrel for the G20 but it sticks out quite a bit past the end of the slide.

Stop!
You will be too happy.
And you will be hooked on 10mm.
:D

And with simple barrel changes you will be shooting .40 S&W and .357 Sig.:what:

I have had both a Glock 29 and a 20. The 29 seemed a little wide for the length. The 20 is just right. Of course that is just my personal preference.

The G29 is a really great pistol. My only comment is that I got tired of feeding it 10mm ($) all the time, so bought a .40 Short & Weak conversion barrel (which paid for itself very quickly) for part-time range use. You'll enjoy the G29.

In my experience, you will only gain 60-65fps when stepping up to the G20 from the G29.

I had one for several years, just trading it away this summer.
It was a good gun for the most part. I had a chipped extractor way back, when it was new, and I shot it a LOT, but it still worked. Ejection was erratic, but it worked. I replaced it, and never had it happen again.

I had a Glock 20, that I got around the same time. The 29 always shot better. I don't remember much, if any, more recoil from the 29.
The 29's grip fit my hand a lot better, so that's probably the reason for all of that.
