Pardon me if there has already been a thread posted on any High Road rendezvous plans for the 2005 SHOT Show.

If not, I think we should kick around the idea. Last year's dinner at the Chinese restaurant was a blast! Any other ideas for possible High Road meeting plans are welcome. I'll be hanging out at Accu-Shot, booth 1230 in the LE/Military area.

yeah but if WA was wearing a ghillie suit and was holding his 'elite' swede sniper rifle, it might be a good pic.

i think WA needs a tactical belt that matches his pink high heels. maybe a THR'er thats attending the shot show will be able to hook him up with one? :D

Hey Matt! Were talking about where to eat in another thread - I'm supposed to get over and try a couple of places but I'm sick. Hopefully I'll get over to Chinatown soon!

I was just in LV for a frogman reunion weekend, and we had dinner at an Italian place called "Battista's Hole in the Wall," about a block off the strip between the Barbary Coast and Bourbon Street casinos. It's been there forever, it's a real institution, but low key.

It's on Flamingo, across the street from Bally's. Real easy free parking lot right there. Just a half block from a nice cheap bar at Bourbon Street. Thought I'd toss that out as a suggestion for a THR dinner meeting place.

But I'll go anywhere!

Matt

Battista's is a Las Vegas institution.
I have lived and/or worked in Las Vegas for twenty years and have never been there. I want to try it. Let's go to Battista's.

On a more personal note, Battista's was located right next to old station 11 (now gone). They were the first in unit at the MGM fire. Drove out of the station and right across the street into hell.

"On the morning of November 21, 1980, 87 people died and more than 700 were injured as a result of a fire at the MGM Grand Hotel. This was the second largest life-loss hotel fire in United States history."

444: Battista's sounds great, if we can get enough interest. Great note about the MGM fire, and the firefighters across the street. I had no idea.

Is there anyone that has an objection to making this Friday at Battista's Hole in the Wall ? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

The restraunt is located on the northwest corner of Flamingo and Audrie right behind the Barbary Coast hotel and across the street (north) of the Bally Grand (which used to be the MGM, but the MGM is now at Trop and the Blvd).

I'll be at the SS and will do my best for dinner at Battistas. Which night??

Hey, Matt, will you sign my copy of EFAD if I bring it?

WildAlaska:
I don't know what time to set dinner for. The SHOT really tires me out, I need a while to recover, shower, chill out etc before being ready for a night out. Maybe 730PM?

There are two threads on this maybe the mods can combine...

Shot burns me out too, it stops at 6, then by the time ya get back to Hotel and clean up??? Im in Mandaly Bay..is the monorail working?

I'll be at SHOT. I'll try to make it to Batistas. Sounds good to me. :)

Sounds good for friday at 7:30 at battista's
I think someone should go ahead and make the arrangments for the room.
Travis or anybody else I think between 20 to 25 folks should be close to right.
Let us know whan you have the reservations.
It sound like a great time to be had by all.
