Evening everyone.. Just stopping by to say welcome to the latest members, I'll put a 'roll call' up in a day or two but am really short of time at the moment - apologies! Some great looking guns again - especially love that snubbie :D

Back soon......................

A while back I found a Rem. Navy (Uberti). Very fine weapon, superbly accurate, 100% reliable. However I didn't shoot much due to lack of suitable holster. To get to where I shoot I have to take either 4 wheeler or a horse. I finally, in between making holsters for others, took time to make one for the Navy. Now it can go too:)

alienbogie, kirst has the fix

I have a Uberti Remmie that I cut down like yours. Kirst Konversons has a cylinder pin retaining clip that mounts in the loading lever slot. It works great. It allows you to slide the pin forward to swap out the cylinder, and it keeps the pin attached to the gun when slid forward.

RD - nice looking holster!

I haven't made a holster in a month now - but a flap holster for my brass grip ROA is next on my list. So far I've cut two templates but I'm not satisfied with either...

Are you using pigskin for lining? If so - how do you like it? I tried Tandy's super soft pigskin for lining on my last holster (for a .31 pocket remmie revolver) and I'm not thrilled with it. It's cheaper than the tooling calfskin I used on all my other lined holsters but much harder to work with.

KB - I don't know where RD gets supplies, but Tandy Leather has just about everything you need to get started.

They have a book - Al Stohlman's "How to make holsters" that will teach you just about all the preliminaries - and it's about $12

BConklin;

If you like the design (for the Rem. Navy) I have a very similar holster for the ROA. PM me and I'll send you a pattern. Lining, yes 2 oz. pig skin lining. It is kind of a pain to work with, but wears like iron.

kb:

Tandy, their quality leaves something to be desired but they are the only game within a couple of hundred miles.

Hobie;

You must have got that top Remington wet, looks like the barrel shrank:) BTW looks good.

RD - thanks for the offer but I'm all set with patterns. Which pig skin are you using? From Tandy?

I like the full length filler you put in the welt in that 58 holster. Looks like the outside is 7-8 ounce lined with pig and the filler is 10 ounce?

Ok, late but finally........ ROLL CALL! :)
