Yeah, it's really great being ignored. Whose butt do you have to kiss to get a measly reply?
First of all, welcome to the forum.

Very nice Remington. I really like the plain white against the particular shade of bluing. Micarta or American Holly? Also very well photographed.

Like all The High Road threads participation in the THR Remington 1858 Club is completely voluntary. Some folks post more than others and some just look, admire and move on. Everyone's welcome to come and go as they please; there's no protocol demanding remarks or even acknowledgement of any one particular post or another. We do appreciate, as the title of the forum suggests, remarks being kept in a positive vein. Not everyone sticks to that all the time, of course, but you'll find it's more often the rule than not here.

One thing we don't need, and certainly don't deserve, is a smart ass remark from some newbie with an attitude problem. Not that that refers to you, of course.

So, welcome, again, and we hope to hear more from you in the future.

Magnus, I wasn't ignoring you, I just missed it among the other 25 pages of more than 700 posts. I really think you fitted those grips perfectly to the frame. mine usually have some gap, or overlap. Nice pistola. Someone with more authority than I will be adding your name to the list soon, I'm sure!

Heres my entry....a pawn shop orphan. Came with a nice 3R holster, extra cylinder and cylinder belt pouch and brass US buckle. It's an early, well seasoned .44 caliber Pietta. Ain't much blue left on it, but its real tight and shoots fine.

Found a set of black grips, after a bit of searching. These were partially finished, a few hours later they fit great, I like the black and silver look.

So why did you even mention it? I'm watching you...

Truth be told, these bolted (?) right on, with but a little bit of overlap you can feel, but not really see. I got them from N.C Ordnance, www.gungrip.com. They shipped the grips QUICK. They are made for the Pietta NA.
Thanks for your reply, amigo!

Thanks. As I posted to BHP FAN, they're bolt ons, Faux Ivory made for the Pietta NA, from www.gungrip.com. They have ALL kinds of grips and ship QUICK.

I realize nobody's REQUIRED to reply. That's what makes it worse. Just a hidy would have been nice without having to inquire. And if anyone thinks I'm a smart ass, well, I have Weizenheimer's Disease.

I don't know what came over me; must have been a senior moment. BTW, watching me will eventually cause stomach and lower gastrointestinal problems. One of my lesser known but more effective defense mechanisms.

Seriously, that is a very nice looking gun and well photographed.

Here is a picture of my first Remington, I don't know the maker and I am doing some research to try and find out. This thing is fun to shoot even though I get a face full of blast residue every time it goes off. :D

Skinny, I usually wear a bandana 'bandit-style' when shooting B.P. That might improve the face-blast experience you described (eye protection always, of course). That 1858 carbine looks like a hoot to shoot! That thang is too cool, and it's gorgeous!

First picture too big? What do you folks think of the black on silver? Why is it so uncommon compared to white? Seems that alot of older pistols came with hard rubber or bakelite grips.

7mmstalker, that looks great! Something like that would make a nice mate for my lonely NA. What are the grips made of? The picture size is fine as far as I'm concerned.
