THR thread inevitabilities

39) Any post involving the word "Democrat" or "republican" will have, within 10 posts,

A Bush reference
A Hillary reference
2 Ron Paul references
3 "Lesser of two evils" references
1 "consciense" reference

40) Any post mentioning Democrat Gun Control will, have, withing 2 posts, a viritrolic reference to the Nov. 06 vote specifically including the phrase "send a message".

Any post asking what under 5" less knife would be recommended will garner suggestions to get a 9" 2 lb Bowie, a 12 " fighter or a tackykewl folder.

Any post on a new AK will result in both posts on how the cheapest AK available would have been a better use of the money or on how the most expensive AK made would have been a better use of the money.

Any post on ammunition will result in several posts on how skyrocketing ammo prices are part of an evil plan to disarm us in spite of the usual post showing skyrocketing metals prices over the past 4 years.

Any post that someone works up the nerve to say that they're a 2-A supporter while also being liberal in most of their other views will result in the OP being told that they can't be a liberal and support the 2-A, they don't know what a liberal actually is or that they are stupid/confused/ignorant.

Anytime someone posts about how good their Taurus shot, within 5 posts, someone will write about how terrible they are and how the OP should have bought a S&W or other brand. Or the famous line, they copy every other company's designs.

Hey! Maybe we should just get the inevitabilities out of the way right in the original post! Just start each new thread with something like:

“When the SHTF, Libertarian Ron Paul uses his 30-30 7.62 NATO Garand model 1911 to defend his home against Glock AR-15 bullpups using Hillary Moore O’Donnell Zombies, he uses only tacicoll European duct tape to hold his trauma plates, and is getting 0.75” groups at 500 yards on the front of the attacking tactical wheel barrows, because the GinKid cops don’t respond in time…"

I've lost track of what number we're on now... :scrutiny: However:

a) on any thread about physical fitness, someone will opine that anyone who cannot krav magna six 300-pound Bubbas in a dark alley is unfit to carry a gun;

b) someone else will point out that the reason the carry a gun is that they CANNOT krav magna six 300-pound Bubbas in a dark alley; and

c) a third person will point out that if you just stay out of bad places altogether you don't need to worry about it, and that they personally avoid dark alleys themselves.

So we need to throw Krav Magna into Ron Paul's abilities :neener:

Don't forget that all competitive shooters, if they ever find themselves in a real gunfight will instantly lose, in spite of their superior gunhandling skills, because they use an Isoceles Stance, and will automatically "unload and show clear," before the situation is dealt with. No one should ever compete! A cold range will kill you!

Having read this thread, I now know everything I can learn from this forum and can stop visiting.
(Just kidding)

Using this logic I generally respond that if it's all about shot placement (only), then why not use a pellet gun.

This is another inevitability when talking about shot placement and caliber.

Within 5 posts, any question about the best round for self defense (brand, bullet weight, +p or not, etc.) will result in a lecture on the merits of reloading. How spending all that time at the reloading bench building custom ammo is so relaxing and practical.

Any mention of an HK product will inevitably bring the comments that HK products are overpriced and that HK customer service sucks. These will immediately be followed with somebody quoting HK's humorous motto.

Ha ha ha

1) In any discussion of the 6.8 SPC cartridge, whether it be for hunting, target shooting, home defense or what have you, somebody will come out of the woodwork and begin pontificating on the superiority of the 6.5 grendel within five posts.

That's be cause it is.:D

PS. You under estimated by about 32 posts.

40. If the word "Dragunov" is mentioned, it only takes a few posts for some guy to suddenly say "well you know, the dragunov isn't a sniper rifle, it was designed to be a designated marksman's rifle for the Soviets" AS IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME anyone ever heard that. Then someone points out the differences between PSLs and Dragunovs. Then someone does an M1A vs Dragunov comparison. Never fails.

Anyone who has legal advice can afford to have a lawyer on retainer at all times, and doesn't understand why you cannot.

No one will ever admit that they haven't been to the range in over a month, maybe two. We all go to the range every weekend, maybe every other day.

In a thread on concealment, someone will suggest that you change your entire lifestyle and mode of dress in the same paragraph that they recommend a P3AT as a good CCW, as if it actually takes that much to conceal one of those. No one ever seems to chime in about how a 1911 will disappear under a shirt if you just know what you're doing.

No matter what your story, you made a tactical mistake. You should have done ____ and you deffinately shouldn't be carrying a gun!

And remember, if you disagree with anything I say, you should really reconsider whether or not you should be carrying a gun :D

LaEscopeta wins! That was a welcome laugh considering how crappy the day has started for me.

1.) There's always some genius within the first 15 posts in a caliber war that can take a full magazine of 9mm to the face and walk away laughing.

You all need to keep numbering your ideas! That way, we can reference them in future posts. So instead of typing out an inane response, I could just type in "Inevitable #29!" :neener:

41. Any and all questions pertaining to Hi-Point, Taurus, and/or Kel Tec will spawn an inordinate number of posts from people who have never even held one, yet swear to the Almighty that they jam, fall apart, and explode before you even take the gun out of the box.

This will then be ratified by one person who had one problem 174 years ago with one Hi-Point, and even though MKS's customer service was excellent and the gun ran another 570,000 rounds without a hitch, they sold it as soon as they could to some "sucker."

The rest of the posts will be from actual owners of above said firearms, stating that theirs have never given them any trouble. Nobody will even acknowledge these, even though they're first-hand evidence.

42. 9mm is no better than .45, as I miss equally well with both.

43. The mention of cheap surplus ammo, usually in .303 and .308, and usually made by those who still live in the 1970s. 7.62x54R and 7.92x57 are the only calibers I've ever seen that were both "surplus" and "cheap," and those have been gone for quite a while now.

44. Your AR-15 cost you $950. Your AR's accessories cost you $1500. You have never taken a carbine class in your life. This is not a good thing.

45. Someone will express outrage that gun owners are perceived as uneducated yahoos in a post so full of spelling and grammar errors it will be almost unreadable.

46. Every couple of months someone will post a thread quoting a coroner/ER doc/LEO that definitively proves that .45 ACP is the finger of God Almighty and that 9mm is no more harmful than children's aspirin.
47. Every instance of the words "brotha", "homeboy" or reference to skin color in the OP increases the chance of a subsequent post using the word "racist", whereupon the odds of the phrases "Jesse Jackson" or "Al Sharpton" being used closely approaches 1:1.
48. At the current rate of THR revisionism and libertarianism the Confederacy will win the Civil War sometime in 2012.
49. Shotguns are useless beyond 10 feet.
50. AR's can shoot a hole in the moon, with the right rate of twist.

52, on any thread about the newest bullet in 9mm some one will say "the 45 does not have to expand"
53, on any thread on how many police use the 40 somebody will mention that it is short and weak.

A thread concerning proper granulation of black powder for the pan of a custom flintlock will garner of response of "I won't buy a Smith with a lock - ever" within 20 posts.

15 posts if the thread concerns the .338 Lapua
10 posts if the thread is about English fowling pieces.
5 posts if about semi-auto handguns.
Near immediate if the thread involves revolvers in any way.
