69) This one goes along with the earlier posts of wanting to know about Option A or Option B and being recommended Option C. A poster will ask for gun recommendations for a particular purpose. Despite a number of guns rather well suited for this purpose, the poster will insist that the board only chooses between two rather bad decisions. Examples of this are, "I need a gun for concealed carry, should I get a Kel-Tec PLR-16 in .223 or a Colt 4th model derringer in .22 short. I like the size of derringer but the power and capacity of the PLR-16. Please don't recommend any other guns as these are the only two I will consider." Despite the fact this is an asinine question, a lively debate will follow about the two options. Should anyone dare suggest a reasonable option, perhaps any of the 50 or so popular guns that would be several orders of magnitude more appropriate for the task, they will be informed of the original poster's desire and chastised for not reading the original post.
70) Dozens of various people will ask for recommendations in various threads. One poster will recommend a certain gun in each and every case as being the perfect gun for the task. If you check the poster's history, you will find that he is 17 and went handgun shooting for the first time two months ago. His uncle has the handgun in question and after firing two magazines worth of ammo, the poster has decided that this gun is fit for every purpose under the sun. It is also available in Ghost Recon.
71) The poster will experience a slight inconvenience at a store that makes the majority of its revenue from the sales of firearms, ammo, and related items. Despite the minor and seemingly reasonable inconvenience, the poster will declare that said business is antigun/antifreedom, has violated his second amendment rights, and needs to be forever boycotted. The store's offenses would be such flagrant infringements as asking the poster to wait a moment while the cashier changes the register tape, only stocking 3 flavors of 6.5 Grendel ammo, or not allowing customers to wander around the aisles of the store carrying open range bags full of shooting equipment. Several posters will agree and declare that almost every gun store is antigun/antifreedom as they require payment for a gun with which to exercise one's rights. Anyone who replies saying that they like the business in question or posts that the transgressions didn't constitute infringement will be labeled as antigun/antifreedom and/or a corporate shill.
72) A poster with almost 1000 posts advising folks in subjects from gun selection to small group tactics to proper shooting technique will come forward one day with a celebratory post saying that he has finally bought his first gun and went shooting for the first time. He will express his surprise at how loud guns really are and that the recoil is something more than he expected. He will then ask for a recoil pad suggestion for his new Ruger 10/22 to go with the muzzle brake/laser sight he is ordering.
73) Someone will be offended by my rampant fact/logic-based hysteria bashing and I will get a PM asking if am I just an "angry old **** head". I will laugh and reply that I am not that old.
74) Inevitably every day here I will learn something, laugh at something, sigh forlornly at the state of the world, and hopefully share something useful or funny. That was so sappy I'm going to go kick my own ass.
