So I figured out a way to stop breathing. How does one stop their heart from beating (for a little while anyway). It would also be nice to be able to see.

I have one more chance with scoped rifle. I may just try this one again. :scrutiny:

I could not keep away from that darn penalty ring - it must have some sort of gravitational properties when printed out on my copier! I shot three targets each, those were my best scores. Was going to try rifle.... will edit if I get to the range.

Just for the heck of it, I decided to shoot this with a slingshot. Here's the (awful) score:

Name: Little Loudmouth
Class: Slingshot
Weapon: Marksman slingshot with Daisy band
Ammo: Rocks
Score: -3
The only shot that hit the target went right into the center of the biggest part of the penalty ring. Oops.

The group is good, I'm happy with the group. If I'd hung the target an inch lower, I'd shot a 37. I think practicing and these meets help to improve my shooting. I yam looking forward to next month.

(Oh, I still have 2 entries available in iron sighted rifles, and 3 in pellet rifles)

My Pistol shooting kinda sucked today. Oh well, at least my trusty muzzleloader came thru. :)

It looks like everyone is having fun with the target this month.

Here are my scores. I went with the popular "lay-up" strategy and went for the larger 8 ring rather than "going for the gold".

Class: Stock Pistol
Weapon: S&W M41
Caliber: .22 LR
Score: 33 (8,8,8,5,4)

Class: Stock Pistol
Weapon: Brolin Arms 1911a1
Caliber: .45ACP
Score: 37 (8,8,8,8,5)

Class: Stock Pistol
Weapon: S.A. 1911-A1
Caliber: 9mm
Score: 34 (8,8,8,5,5)

I also did some prep work for next months match. I promise it will be a valuable learning experience!

Stock pistol:
P08 Luger (1934 civilian production Mauser)
9mm
Score 33 (4, 5, 8, 8, 8)

My father's gun. With good ammo and a better shooter than me, it's should be capable of an inch or less at 25 meters.

Stock rifle:
Anschütz "standard rifle" (don't remember model)
.22 LR
Score 42 (8, 8, 8, 8, 10)

Loaner rifle at the range at work. Two called flyers in each of the pictured groups. On the highest scoring one, one of the flyers was the 10... The shot just over the 10 "ring" in the same group (right hand target in the picture) is breaking the line to the 8 ring. I'll take all the luck that comes my way, and I ain't even blushing :) .

April Match Results

Not a bad turn out for the April match. Lots of new shooters joining the fun as well.
Cropcirclewalker gets the "most prolific" award (8 entries) this month. I'll be interested to see how many he does next month!
Little Loudmouth gets the "most out-of-the-box" award for his attempt at creating a slingshot class.
M67 gets the "coolest gun used in the match" award for using his old luger. Perhaps we need a C&R class?
