Thunder on the Mountain, 3 Inch Magnums

My Dan Wesson M14-2 with a 3" EWK EH shroud & barrel and the factory "combat" grip along with its elder cousin by marriage CZ-52. I'm considering getting a 6" EWK barrel & shroud with an Aristocrat rib sight mounted on it and a Pachmayr grip to make the M14-2 a PPC clone/CCW dual-purpose weapon.

I purchased one of the 2&1/2" new barrel/shrouds on the CZ-USA store website & it is absolutely excellent, plus it's more traditional in appearance. I also purchased a 4" on for my model 22, also superb. They now have several lengths on-hand.

Hey - thanks for posting that! Your buddy's GP looks exactly like mine, even down to the Altamonts with rosewood snakeskin-pattern inserts.


I have been considering getting the compact grips now that they are available... but then again part of me says to just leave well enough alone.

I like 3-inch revolvers, too. The .357 (top) is one of my favorite field carry guns, and the .44 special is no slouch either.

I like 3-inch revolvers, too. The .357 (top) is one of my favorite field carry guns, and the .44 special is no slouch either.

The .44 Special is on my short list, along with a .327 magnum.
