Time for a new gun

I plan on getting all of these some day, but I don't know which one I should get first.

The choices are
LCP $270
LCR $400
or GP-100 $510



I would carry the LCR or LCP and the GP 100 would be something more along the lines of my camping gun, that I would not need to worry about concealing.

I'm just interested in hearing some opinions on which one you would pick first?

It depends on several factors: do you own any other handguns now? if so, what? What role would the next gun fill?

If the answer is, "I own no other handguns and I want whichever one is most versatile," then get the GP-100

If the answer is, "I want the gun for concealed carry and recreational use," then get the LCR.

If the answer is, "I have plenty of guns, but lack a pocket gun," then get the LCP

The only other handgun i have is a beretta 92.

the reason i chose these 3 guns are-

GP-100 - the first time I picked one up, it just felt perfect in my hand
LCR - its something new and I've been looking for a carry gun
LCP - nice little pocket gun, and I thought the price looked good.

I know that it all boils down to what one I decide on getting, but I'm just curious about what people have to say about these three and which one you would pick out of the bunch

While both of these are fine sentiments, if you don't have a CCW, you need one--get the LCR. If you already have adequate CCW units.....get the GP100.

Wheelgun for sure. Gp100 if it rides in the truck, LCR if it rides in yer pocket.

Get the LCP. You should get a good pocket gun now, and damn I had no idea they were that cheap or I would have started looking for one myself.

wo knowing more about what you have and what you do there is no way to say which should be your next gun. I will tell you this

LCP- very very small...not real easy to shoot. Questionable knockdown power. ( I might buy one as a back up, back up gun)

LCR- interesting idea. Good customer satisfation. Personally I detest super light snubs

GP100- heavy, crap trigger wo work, durable and reasonably priced

Based on your comments, the LCR would be the one to get.

Others have given voice to my ideas. I'd say LCR if you're still undecided.

I would rather have the LCP to carry than the LCR. I was in a delima between the 2 and I settled on the LCP because it felt more solid and it felt easier to conceal.

I would just pass on the LCR all together, a revolver made partially out of polymer is not for me. Now an SP101 hammerless in .357 is an incredible.

A wonderful gun for gym short pocket carry and walking around the house in pajama pants.

My Ruger GP100 has an excellent trigger without having a trigger job. You just have to shoot it and it gets better with use. More fun than getting a smith to work on it anyway.

He lives in WA State. No CCW units needed for his CPL (Concealed Pistol License). Just apply at the Sheriff's department. I received mine in a week. My records area clean.

Wow an LCP for $275?? Golly that's cheap. I would get that over the LCR. The LCP is easier to carry and conceal. The Ruger is obviously larger than the 2.

Sorry but your choice is flawed from the get-go. Anything but Ruger. However, among those choices, the GP100.

At this time, you may also want to factor in ammunition availability. While everything seems to be in short supply, 380 is really scarce, at least where I live. That would make me shelve that gun until a later date

I voted before I saw anything but the OP...... for the GP100, of course.... but....

If you are looking for a CCW id go with one of the compacts.

Personally Id go w/ the combo of all your choices and get the amazingly awesome sp101 but there's nothing wrong with the LCP's/LCR's either.

Any way you look at it youll end up w/ a great gun.

I fired a friend's LCP. Useless. I repeat. USELESS. Get the LCR. I have not fired one but I have handled one and it felt nice. I carry a Colt Agent in a pocket holster as one of my CCW guns. A lightweight, 38 revolver remains one of the best pocket carry guns of all time. All of the makes are about equal in usefulness so long as the particular specimen works as advertised. They are brilliant for that role and no pocket pistol yet devised has equaled them in my opinion.
You already have a range gun, the GP-100, while a fabulous revolver, can wait.

I voted for the LCR. I've shot an LCP, and I honestly do not think they are bad at all. However, .380 ACP has been scarce around me (might be different for you) and you will more than likely want to shoot your new gun right away.

I didn't really want to factor in the GP-100 because you don't have a suitable firearm for concealed carry yet. While you could conceal the Beretta, you will end up asking yourself whether or not you need to take it along. A "j-frame" revolver/polyvolver can be carried with ease, even in many pockets.

I like to think every time I carry a certain gun that firearm is getting utilized. So if you end up carrying it a lot, you're getting more out of your $400 rather than the higher priced occasional range gun.
