I've been partial to to the 45 ACP cartrage for a number of years. I sold my 40 cal p2022 for a hefty profit and in market for a carry 45. I'm stuck between a commander length colt 1911, sig p220 carry elite, and a cz97. I like the sig ergonomics and feel. But I have shot a 1991 goverment since I was 18. Too big for everyday carry but maybe the slight shorter length will be better. Also have been mulling over a cz97 larger but with a lower barrel axis. I'm stuck on a exposed hammer either da/sa or sao. Preferably steel framed.

Have you looked at the HK45C? It's been my go to carry piece for the past year now. No issues from day one.

I have always been partial to Commander size pistols for concealed carry. I also have an Officers Model and a New Agent, but to me the Commander has just the right combination of balance and feel to the gun to make it my favorite.

I had the same issue. Was using a CZ 75 P-01 love that gun, still use it for HD. But in the street I feel more comfortable with the 45 ACP. Thursday picked up a Bersa Thunder 45 Ultra Compact Pro. Haven't had it to the range yet, but the reviews on it are very good. 3.6 inch barrel, 7+1 for the mags, yes I know I am going down in the number of rounds but just carry extra mags.

Excelent fit and finish for the gun, alum frame and steel slide in a nickel finish, nice looking two tone effect. It is not a Kimber or Les Bauer but at half the price it really is nice. Pistol grip is that of a compact (little short) but does not print when conceled, double stack mag makes the grip a little wide but feels solid in the hand. Excelent trigger a little heavy (about 10 lbs on double action) but it hasn't been broken in yet. Clean crisp let off without any grittyness and I love that front sight (huge white dot).

I compared it to my CZ P-01 and they are exactly the same size with the exception of the pistol grip being a little bit shorter.

If your looking for a CC 45 ACP you may want to look at one of these.

The CZ 97 always seems like such a big gun to me. The frame is bigger than the CZ 75 and the mid-size frame the Witness pistols use. My .45 ACP pistols are a 1911 and a 4506 and the CZ 97 feels bigger than both.

I'm doing the same thing, 1911 or sig 220.
CZ 97, isn't like the size of a Beretta 92? IMO, even a full size 1911 will be easier to conceal than the CZ.
I've been carrying my SA range officer some and am surprised how well it hides.
