I've used it in 9mm, and 45 ACP with both. The 9mm with 124 gr FMJ and 125 gr L-RN and 45 ACP with 230 gr FMJ and L-RN with good accuracy with both. I also like and use HP-38, Unique, Universal, Clays and Bullseye. I've found it as accurate as any for me however be careful not to over charge as it is fairly easy with Titegroup. It is also fairly clean but not as clean as Universal or Clays but cleaner that the others listed.

Great score! That powder works great for auto pistol. Glad you could find what you need. Three pounds will last you a few years and serve you well.

I use Tite Group for .45 ACP on a regular basis. I usually load 4.6 gr with a 230 grain FMJ. A few weeks ago I managed to score two 4 pound cans from Cabela's, so I'm set for another 12k rounds. Now if I could just find the primers...

TG is a good powder, but you'll notice the safe load window is approximately 1/3 as wide as what you're accustomed to working with. Going by the Hodgdon web site those numbers are 0.4gr vs. 1.1gr.
IMHO that means your reloading process needs to be 3 times more diligent. You'll need to exercise 3X the care. And your powder measuring and weighing equipment will need to be triple checked for accurate operation.

I usually load 4.6 gr with a 230 grain FMJ.Just curious, what do you use for an OAL? The Hodgdon info online for a 230 gr lrn calls for 1.200", which seems too short. Two of my manuals call for 1.260, and three different brands of factory ammo I've measured run in the 1.260"-1.265" range.

I just started using tite group in my 1911, Going by the sierra book.
accuracy load , 185 fpj and 5.9 gr of titegroup. I was using winchester
brass and winchester lpp. Shot very well. 6.2 was max on the powder.

TiteGroup works well in many calibers to what I have read on here.
Im also giving it another go in .45 ACP. Firearm is a Springfield XDs with some 230 GR FMJ RN, Some 185 Gr XTP and some home cast 230 Gr LRN.
I plan on shooting them and chrono them at the same time to see how it does...

With 4.6 gr. of Tite Group and a 230 gr. FMJ bullet, I set the OAL to 1.230
The Lee manual I use gives a powder weight range of 4.4 to 4.8, and recommends an OAL of 1.200. Erring on the side of caution, I set the OAL just a bit longer and avoid shooting the max load. I've run about 1k of these through my Ruger SR1911 without any problems.

I used a lot of TG when I first began reloading a few years ago. As others have said, it is economical and clean-burning IMO, but it will NOT forgive you for an over-charge as it has a very narrow therapeutic window.

My typical load is 4.5gr of TG over a 230gr rnfp at 1.200"
I made 200 one day which were quite a bit over max. by mistake due to a bad scale.
I shot one our of my Springfield Armory 1911 which is rated for +P rounds.
It shot with a good stout recoil and really flattened primers.
I have since shot half of them and labeled the other half as such

I have been loading with titegroup for a little while now. Most sources I have seen recommend 4.2 grs starting load. That's what I use. Cheap, and safe.

I love Titegroup for the .45 acp. My XD-45 shoots 4.5 gr under a 230gr cleanly, accurately, and economically.

I use 4.9gr. of Titegroup under a 230gr.FMJ set at 1.250". This has proven to be an accurate dependable .45acp load in all four of my pistols. I reload all my straight wall pistol rounds using Titegroup and get very good results.

I use TightGroup for my Ruger SR1911 5 inch. Hornady 185XTP and 5.7gn set to OAL 1.200in. It is a very accurate load with lighter recoil and meters great in my press using the autodisk. I also use it with 200gn LSWC with 5.1gn TightGroup, OAL 1.230in for a plinking load, it smokes a little but not bad. I am new to reloading and this site and appreciate all the great info I have already found and used!

I don't like TG, but I'm shooting cast bullets in revolver cartridges. It should work great in .45 ACP with plated bullets. Congratulations on finding a usable powder in stock somewhere
Be extra careful not to double charge it because it's soot-colored and doesn't take up a lot of room in the case.- Status
