Why would this be a joke?

Because as nice as Oleg's posters are, anyone who prints them out and hangs them throughout there house needs to both lighten up and consider hiring an interior decorator. What exactly would be accomplished by alienating his in laws who are there to celebrate the birth of his child by covering his house with pro-gun propaganda?

It doesn't matter if it is gun posters, NASCAR helmets, baseball jerseys, or Elvis memorabilia. Having it all over your house makes you look like a weirdo. Now, while some will say "I don't care what anyone else thinks!", the truth is that the way to win the culture war is to make gun ownership a non-issue.

I think I would just let any comments she makes roll off. If it gets too bad, don't be afraid to tell her to mind her own business, man. If she wants to enter into an intelligent discussion on the subject, fine. If not, try to keep the discussion away and focus on the birth of your child, as opposed to worrying about what she has to say. Whether or not you love her like a mother or not, this weekend should be about your kid, not some argument over something that neither one of you is going to bend on.
